A blast from the past, for everyone who wasn't in the Eighth grade in 1968.

Co-starring big names like Hal Holbrooke, Shelly Winters, Ed Begley Senior, and.. The late Richard Pryor (!) as a young cat named "Stanley X"!

It was hilarious even then but surely much of the comedy and satire was lost on the audience of the time.

I think I might rent it again just for some flashback fun.

I remember when that movie came out. James Dean wannabe Christopher Jones was a kind of big deal at the time.

I read the original story “The Day It All Happened, Baby!” in ESQUIRE back in around 1967. I still remember the illustrations used.

Saw the movie a few years ago. I liked the ending where the kids below the age of 12 were planning on obtaining the vote.

I love McDowell in general but this and Clockwork Orange are my favorites.

A venerable fire arm, I almost bought one converted to 45 ACP, but those moon clips soured the deal.

I was 16 with my first car and saw that movie at the El Rancho drive-in theatre near Kent, Washington - $1.99 a carload.

And that very thing is what makes him awesome.

Pretty sure he’s a madman.

My wife has never forgiven me for inducing her to watch “A Clockwork Orange” with me.

She said it forever ruined “Singing In The Rain” for her.

And that got a literal LOL from me.

:D

[probably shouldn’t show her Rob Zombie’s “Red, Red, Kroovy”, either]

McDowell ad-libbed that song for the scene, btw.
