The Commission on Presidential Debates will host three presidential debates and one vice-presidential debate later this year. As is tradition, the debates to be held at universities.

The first presidential debate, when the incumbent President Trump will face off against Joe Biden for the first time, was to be held on Tuesday, September 29 at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. In late July, the institution withdrew from hosting due to concerns about the pandemic.

"I am grateful to the many members of the University community who have devoted countless hours planning this event, and to the Commission on Presidential Debates leadership for their professionalism and understanding," said Rev. John Jenkins, the president of Notre Dame, in a statement, per CNN. "But in the end, the constraints the coronavirus pandemic put on the event -- as understandable and necessary as they are -- have led us to withdraw."

The first debate will now be held at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Similarly, the second presidential debate was expected to take place at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Thursday, October 15, but in June, they too withdrew from hosting the event due to health concerns amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

The replacement location for the second debate is Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami. The final debate is still set for Thursday, October 22 at Belmont University in Nashville.

Liar, liar, pants on fire. They cancelled to appease their far-left faculty.

That could backfire big time. Voters would be reluctant to vote for a candidate with a serious illness.

POTUS should show up at the Biden basement bunker.

I am hoping Trump will offer Biden double or nothing in the first debate. Winner gets next eight years, loser gets nothing. Would the Dems flinch? Do they really believe they can win with Biden-Harris?

Oh, but Biden voters have been “conditioned” and will feel sorry for him

That’s incredible.

They kept moving the bar and no one stopped them.

Why not just vote now for 2024 too?

You need two sides of fighters for all out war.

ONE KID with a gun put them into a complete and utter panic.

And they didn’t come back the next day ready to dance. There was no major gun battle the next evening.

Real tough guys or warriors would have made it a gun battle that night.

They saw blood and they fell like dominoes.

“all out war” would last from 6pm to 8pm on any given day.

They might, but it would turn off independent voters.

"But in the end, the constraints the coronavirus pandemic put on the event -- as understandable and necessary as they are -- have led us to withdraw."

Is that the new strategy? Both candidates WANT to debate, but there are no venues to host it?

All it would take is for a GOP-friendly site to offer up an auditorium to bust this wide open.

How about Hillsdale College? How about Liberty University?

How about Howard? How about Spelman? How about some other HBCU?

I'm sure there are many locations that would jump at the chance to host an historical Presidential debate. Doing it at an Historical Black University or College would be the perfect site for THIS election.

Which candidate has the guts to suggest it?

Which candidate has the folly to reject it?

Question about early voting...if Sleepy is replaced on the ballot after people have voted in September/October, what happens to those votes?

I’m pretty sure Shotgun Joe gets to keep ‘em. Ballots are being printed with his name on them. If he can’t make it, kinda tough toenails.

Is ANTIFA going to burn down a black college?

Is Black Lives Matter going to protest a black college?

Are black colleges that just secured long-term funding security from the Trump administration now going to refuse to host a Presidential debate out of spite? Will they really bite the hand that just fed them, as the saying goes?

“I’m still predicting they’ll say Biden “got Covid” during time of debates”

Interesting point. Maybe they should have him out circulating in the crowds so he might really get the virus.

I’m sure they can generate a false positive test result for old Joe and shut down these debates. As Barney Fife used to say, nip it in the bud.
If the president grumbles about it on Twitter he’ll be blasted by the media, Nancy, and Chucky.

There’s no way they can allow him to go one-on-one with President Trump.

Smart money says, “NEVER”. Biden is scared shitless. He will try everything except suicide to duck Trump.
