The NHL announced its four Stanley Cup Playoff games scheduled for Thursday and Friday have been postponed after the players on all eight remaining teams decided not to play as a form of protest against systemic racism and police brutality.
"After much discussion, NHL players believe that the best course of action would be to take a step back and not play tonight's and tomorrow's games as scheduled," the NHL and NHL Players' Association said in a statement. "The NHL supports the players' decision and will reschedule those four games beginning Saturday and adjust the remainder of the Second Round schedule accordingly."

Many people are putting aside allegiances to teams and are in agreement. The other night in a hockey broadcast, we heard of proceeds going to black queers and that community to get text books. These organizations are not even masqueraded any more. Kate Smith is shamed but black transvestites are promoted (yes, the full letters were mentioned). How much can we endure as people, forget sports fans...as people! I saw a TV ad during a game for Highlander (a vehicle) with four black women. When was the last time we saw an ad for four white males only? How much more are we going to take? How much more can we take? Boycott these products.
Too bad the NHL caved.
They were the last sports organization I had any respect for.
MLB? They all kneeled.
People will find other things to do/watch/whatever.
Cord cutters like my family won’t miss anything. The only reason I ever have TV service is to watch college football. Since the Big Ten chickened out, I didn’t even sign up for Hulu Live so we’re just watching movies and doing other stuff. Not missing it one iota either.
To each their own. I will say this, these idiots better not get too caught up in their own self-importance. No one watches sports because of the player’s politics. That’s a good way to throttle the goose that laid the golden egg. Maybe they can bitch about Trump to the drivers of the cars that they are wiping down after the car wash...

We were out and got home at 8:00. I turned on the hockey game and there was a rerun of a car auction. I turned on the hockey channel just in time to see Kevin Weekes explaining the postponement by the NHL and the players. This is the straw that breaks the camels back for me. I AM DONE.
When are we going to see Asian-Americans and midgets being hired by the NBA? Let them be silent on ‘racism’ until they stop being racist and sizests themselves.
Russian players are protesting about racism and people being treated badly.
Go figure.
I'm done with pro and college sports....
And I love sports....but I'm done with these people.
One of the reasons I cancelled them.
Please feel free to postpone them for the next twenty years. That will show us.
