All of what you described, dining, theater, other entertainment, not to mention any and all businesses, require an audience and a client-base. NYC though I haven’t seen it up close since March, is now giving off a very unpleasant looking and feeling atmosphere. It will take FOREVER to restore even a sense of basic safety in the city, considering what happened there in the way of rioting and looting. Everywhere I look and every fact I try to wrap my head around indicates New York is on life support with its Chief of Staff trying to pull the plug.
Hey New York, the lesson here to you is... Never give power to anyone who will abuse it for their own political purposes.
Will they learn from this? Probably not.
It everybody...I guess South Dakota is the only free state...might take a road trip there so I do not have to wear a mask
Will there be any customers by next year? NYC looks like a ghost town compared to pre lockdown days. ActionKid on YouTube walks the streets in many neighborhoods of Manhattan and its unreal how empty they are, and the boarded up buildings! Such a shame.
Your should change your screen name to Milktoast. You aint no firebrand.
A fried of mine worked in NYC for a few years until late July. They were in the city 2-3 days a weed during CCPVirus on average. They said that when they left NYC had it was very tense and everyone was on edge. Their was that feeling that the future was uncertain and it could change day to day, not for the better, but the worse. Every time a protest turned violent, store boarded up or closed, people became more guarded and accepting the is the future if I stay.
I am surprised that the citizens of these states and communities haven’t hanged these fascists.
I thought I thought we should start to reopen slowly when the weather gets cold. Didn’t I think that? Well, it’s late . . .

You obviously know nothing about milk toast. It has a kind of CARING quality.
You seem to be unaware of the permanent lung, kidney, heart, liver, and brain damage.
Flu: no permanent damage
Covid: lots of permanent damage in severe cases
Don’t worry. You’ll catch up.
Yup, my bad. The correct term is Milquetoast. You should adopt that nom de plume.
I think you misspoke. DeBlasio, Cuomo and the DNC ARE AMERICA'S ENEMIES.
These domestic hammer and sickle commies are destroying America faster than any foreign enemy could.
So the message from this moron is actually “We can’t re-open, otherwise Coronavirus will win” or “If we re-open Coronavirus has won”
I fear once some of the large conventions get forced to cancel for 2 years, say a April 2020 convention cancelled an 2021 cancelled due to uncertainty, many will have found other ways to move on virtually.
When they do return instead of taking up hundreds of thousands of square feet, they will have a much smaller foot print so save money on the exorbitant rates convention centers charge to have a Union electrician to plug in a TV, empty a trash can or charge $50 dollars for 24 pack of water bottles.
Pretty much. Just stay home, shit up, be miserable, loose your job, savings, etc. and I’ll tell you when to be happy again.
Last numbers I recall, from quite a few years ago, it was 35,000. If this idiot Mayor actually goes this far, he will go down in History as “The Man who Destroyed the great City of New York”-—Only Wall Street will remain, and only the High Class shops and restaurants that cater to rich people > there will be no “poor people” either that or landlords used to collecting rent will be forced out by fiat, no taxes will be collected because no tax base will exist, and the city itself will cease to be, for all practical purposes. It’s interesting that I’ve seen a lot of writing on the city in its early stages of “transitioning” to “whatever”, in the NYTimes but its all blithely on the level of lifestyle, like nobody can even process what might lie in the future. I don’t think we know yet, but what happens to New York and whether it comes back or not will be the Story of the Century.
Okay!
WANNA BET?
IF they are only allowed outdoor dining-— how many customers will there be in winter in NYC???
Wall Street will leave if crime goes up..Im suprised Fox News has not left town...it unsafe for women going to work..
