Only two minutes. Sandy at his retirement announcement. Example of class compared to many of today's athletes.

My aunt and uncle lived right across from Ebbets Field. Good memories.
Wow! That's great! My father was a New York Giants' fan, but when they moved he waited until the Mets came around. I had no such local attachment, but we would go see the Dodgers play the Mets.

I'll give you a few modern sports heroes who were great, classy players in their respective sports:
1. Wayne Gretzky
2. Tony Gwynn
3. Walter Payton
4. Don Mattingly
5. Jerry Rice
6. Steve Yzerman
7. Nicklas Lidstrom
And while he probably wouldn't make this list, I must give kudos to Willie Stargell of the Pittsburgh Pirates for the greatest Sandy Koufax quote of all time:
"Trying to hit Sandy Koufax was like trying to drink coffee with a fork."
LMAO.

Koufax was truly one of the best. But, I tended to be more of Bob Gibson fan.

I saw him throw a no hitter vs the Phillies in the early 60s. What a machine.

Sure it was ‘59? Tommy D. only had one at bat that season.

You have to add Michael Jordan.

There is a story from when the Dodgers were still in Brooklyn that Sandy Koufax pitched a no-hitter in Philadelphia. Don Drysdale had taken the train back to New York. When he arrived there someone told him, "Koufax pitched a no-hitter." Drysdale's response was, "Did the Dodgers win?"
The Dodgers were notorious at that time for not scoring many runs.
Maybe that was the game you saw.

Please. Ali bears more responsibility for the braggadocious, arrogant, self-promoting, chest-thumping buffoonery that has made watching sports unbearable.

Id be more inclined to consider him if the rumors of his gambling problem could be out to rest.

The best. Thanks for posting.
I do believe all politicians
should take this sage advice.
We’d be a much better country.
12 years should be the limit.

I think it was Bill Parcels, former football coach, talking about touchdown celebrations who said something like, Act like youve been there before. Always thought that was a pretty good quote.

So someone posts a video of Kofax and you manage to scrounge up that. Way too much time on your hands. LOL!

I saw game 4 of the 1963 World Series. From the right field bleachers, but I was there. Sandys retirement was sad, but we all understood
