Not to prolong this, but I was only so-so at math.
Something I came to notice, on my own, was the curious thing with nine-
9 x 1 = 9
9 x 2 = 18 1+8 = 9
9 x 3 = 27 2+7 = 9
9 x 4 = 36 3+6 + 9 etc
I guess that means something, no sure what.
I noticed that the answer to 9 x __ always began with a numeral one less than __ and the two numerals of the answer would add up to 9.
The answer to 9 x 5 would therefore start with a 4 and had to add up to 9.
4 + ___ = 9
4+ 5 = 9 , so the answer to 9 x 5 is 45.
Coolest math trick I ever learned was multiplication by 11.
Any number X 11 = the left digit, the sum of the left and right digits, the right digit
Example: 23 X 11 = 2 then 5 (2+3) then 3 = 253
Example: 48 X 11 = 4 (temporary) then 12 (temporary) then 8. Take the 1 from the 12 and add it to the 4 to make 5, keep the 2, then 8 = 528
Example: 534 X 11 = 5874
Example: 8639 X 11 = 95029
It gets trickier the longer the number you’re multiplying, so for those it’s easier to start from the right and move left, but it works and people think you’re a math genius when you’re not really.
((12 + 144 + 20 + (3 * 4^1/2)) / 7) + (5 * 11) = 9^2 + 0

Actually, I remember seeing that 9 magic on a kids’ show of some sort my children were watching in the early 1980s.
