'He chose his poison': Woman identifies grandson as suspect who threw makeshift bomb at Portland federal courthouse
Washington Examiner ^ | 8/02/20 | Emma Colton

A President Trump supporter identified her own grandson as the suspect behind throwing a makeshift bomb at a federal courthouse in Portland.

Karla Fox, described as “a Trump-loving, 69-year-old woman” by the New York Post, said Saturday that she recognized her grandson in a video of the attack on the courthouse by a vest the suspect was wearing.

“I bought the vest for him after he found one online after getting hit with rubber bullets the night before at the protest,” Fox told the New York Post.

Fox had also posted a review of the vest online, which helped authorities track him down, saying, “I got this for my grandson who’s a protester downtown, he uses it every night and says it does the job.”

The Department of Justice announced law enforcement officials arrested and charged Gabriel Agard-Berryhill, 18, last week for “using fire to maliciously damage the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse in downtown Portland on July 28, 2020.”

She may have saved his life. He was on a bad path with bad people and granny did the right thing. it isn’t easy to turn in your own but usually your gut let’s you know it is the best option. He will understand one day hopefully.

"Agard-Berryhill was charged with felony arson and was released without bail."

Why am I not surprised?

Didn’t a swirling, shrieking siren light up in her head when she heard
he had been HIT BY RUBBER BULLETS the night before?
Maybe he tends to exaggerate things.

“Of course you did, Dear! If you want me to buy you a jacket online, all you have to do is ask. No need to make stuff up. Granny will take care of it! Did you ever get a chance to try on that long underwear I got you for Christmas? I don’t recall getting a Thank You email about it.”

Go, Granny! GO! :)

We need more Grannies in the trenches! If there were more ‘beat downs’ by Grandma, this shiite would NOT be happening across the land!

I never crossed either of my Grandmas on any day for any reason. ;)

Miss you, Anita & Edith...to this day and FOREVER. *HEART*

This was a weird story. She must have known he was rioting if she bought him a vest so that he would be protected from rubber bullets...That’s hardly a normal request!

I noticed in another article that the kid had actually served two years in a youth facility for a felony (didn’t specify what kind, but two years is a fair stint) and had been released a few months earlier. He was still on probation, I believe, but Granny said he was “getting his life together” And “talking about getting a job.” Truly a strange story.

My Mother was a wonderful’ loving’ Christian’ conservative, but she would never have fingered her Grand Children even if guilty.

He was already arrested and in jail based on public posts on the interwebs. I think the "chan kids" were the first to put together the review and the video. Her review of the vest with his pic helped, but she had no idea at that time he was going to bomb a federal building.

She said her grandson is currently on probation for a felony conviction when he was a minor. She said he spent the past two years at Rogue Valley Youth Correctional Facility in southern Oregon and recently talked of turning his life around, and getting a job at Amazon.

And with his history, he will be doing some hard time. Bombing a federal building is no small crime...

Squealing is not always wrong. Sometimes silence is evil.

She may have bought him the vest for protection during protesting, not rioting.

I would tend to think he is like a good portion of these little twerps these days.

She warned him and he wouldnt listen.

So, learn the hard way.

I don’t understand why she would buy him a padded best to deflect rubber bullets if she didn’t want him to go to the riots. Protective armor is only going to make him MORE inclined to feel invincible and rarin’ to go. If she wanted him to avoid it she should have let him keep a little fear in the back of his tiny mind.

There was a previous article about granny bragging about the vest protecting her precious grandson. It also stated that LE connected the dots, of the review of the vest by granny and a picture of him protesting on her FB page and her bragging about him protesting for 50 nights in Portland. Granny is by no means a Trump supporter.

Not buying the honorable granny BS. She made him a riot vest, she was proud of that according to other reports.

Yeah, but the media are all card carrying Commies, and they rewrite history when it does not fit their narrative.

I’m new to this story. We know about granny, but where’s mom and dad?

This story is the most absolute pile of Bull Sh** that I may have ever read. This man was tracked down by Anons on 4 chan. They are the ones that found the add. And there have already been several articles testifying to that fact. Talk about not giving credit where credit is due, and then lying about how the identification occurred. I just lost all respect for this source.

Granny may have said this after she was asked. But this story is a lie. Grannies add(with photo) was spotted by 4chan long before granny made any such statements. They are the ones who did all of the detective work and tracked the bomber to her add. They then notified the FBI.
