A few years back, I was working on a few long-term assignments in DC, I developed a bad habit of listening to the sports yak stations — Snyder eventually purchased the ESPN radio affiliate as a propoganda device, but that just made the other station dig in to him more.

If I recall the actual events, the cheerleaders were going to do beach photo spreads somewhere in Mexico/Carribean. When they were about to fly off, they were notified that each had a “corresponding” super-fan who would be their traveling companion. Some of the cheerleaders took quite a bit of exception to this and the whole thing was quashed with apologies...and some type of undisclosed settlement.

I think WaPo has been talking to both Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon, former WaPo staffers (and best known as the co-hosts of ESPN's Pardon the Interruption) with a lot of connections to the DC sports scene, about the innumerable issues plaguing the Redskins. And believe me, there's a lot, to say the least.

Yep, loved it. Nolan Ryan, George Brett, Reggie Jackson, though I hated his lackadaisical fielding. Have BB cards, photos my dad took at Yankee Stadium in the 1950’s, and some really nice autographs.

Still play softball, except for this summer, haha.

How bizarre. I’m sure that went over like a lead balloon.

I wonder how much Snyder got as his “cut” or “royalty”, whatever term they use in the credit card industry, for use of the Redskins Mastercard. I’m guessing he got a cut from every purchase made with the card, and not just purchases of the season tickets.

Sounds like a racket.
