A few years back, I was working on a few long-term assignments in DC, I developed a bad habit of listening to the sports yak stations — Snyder eventually purchased the ESPN radio affiliate as a propoganda device, but that just made the other station dig in to him more.
If I recall the actual events, the cheerleaders were going to do beach photo spreads somewhere in Mexico/Carribean. When they were about to fly off, they were notified that each had a “corresponding” super-fan who would be their traveling companion. Some of the cheerleaders took quite a bit of exception to this and the whole thing was quashed with apologies...and some type of undisclosed settlement.
