PARDON Roger Stone... Now Julian Assange?
FreeRepublic ^ | July 10 | RandFan

What are Freepers thoughts on Julian Assange? Barr's DOJ want him extradited to face espionage charges for allegedly publishing classified material.

It's likely he will face a rigged trial in DC (Maybe under Berman Jackson!) and won't have a hope in defending himself which he is entitled to. He could face the rest of his life behind bars under this arcane espionage law.

It does not sit right with me.

Thoughts?

Roger stone was NOT pardoned. His sentence was commuted. There’s a difference

He hasn’t been charged or convicted of anything. Are you suggesting a free get out of jail card?

The CIA & FBI want Assange dead.

He knows Seth Rich was the source of the DNC data.

Blows the Russia ruse sky high.

This is the problem...

Wikileaks = publisher. Assange called himself Editor in chief and says he is a journalist.

I can see it going to the Supreme Court but by the time that happens Assange will probably suffer health problems in prison.

No, he republished information given to him by leakers. Just like the NY Slimes, WA Compost and other commie rags here, did. Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers ring a bell? Who at the Slimes was even tried, let alone tossed into prison? In the court case filed by the SLimes the SCOTUS (6-3) let them publish without censorship.

The problem is he can’t mount this kind of case under the terms of the trial the DOJ have in mind ...

I believe they want a rigged show trial in DC or Virginia with the jury pool (D’s mostly who work for government agencies or their partners do).

The whole thing is going to be a gross violation.

I believe his lawyers are saying they want a trial but somewhere else other than DC

Have you got some sources on his publishing directly getting our sources killed?

The CIA & FBI want Assange dead.

So you think he’s going to get the Epstein treatment?

He is not safe in a federal prison.

Barr could care less.

I seriously hope as the time approaches this will become more high profile and get Trump’s attention.

Those on the left will certainly be asking Biden questions about this.

He has to be charged with something before he can be pardoned... the president cannot issue a blanket pardon. I think they are trying to be thorough in the charges so that when he is pardoned, they can’t come back with some other charges.

Before my time but I have read about it

However they wont let Assange defend himself properly apparently they can restrict him and stop him from using the ‘im a journalist’card or free speech.

It’s going to be a rigged, kangaroo show trial. Hopefully so appalling it gets the media attention it deserves and then maybe it will get Trump’s attention

This could become an election issue with both the right and left demanding answers from their leaders.

Actually, Enemy sources hacking into Hillary’s unsecured network is what led to human sources being executed in Iran and China.

“.....What are Freepers thoughts on Julian Assange?....”

I honestly believe that Assange was set up by the US Intelligence community to be taken down by Swedish intelligence agents.

As to my thoughts on Assange. I wish he had the sex tapes that Epstein made and his girlfriend/pimp may have access to.

As to a pardon for Assange. I am not sure, but if he was set up by our intelligence agencies, then yes a pardon would not bother me.

*** I honestly believe that Assange was set up by the US Intelligence community.***

Remember when Iceland kicked the FBI out because the US was trying to set Assange up on a false charge there. The Icelandic Gov’t had the decency to inform Assange.

Remember when a couple who owned a fake dating service said Assange tried to seduce their 11 year old daughter? Fake dating service w/ a San Fran address, in the same building where the FBI or some US government had an office.

Remember when Sweden insisted on rape charges against Assange, even though the victim said sex was consensual, and she did not wish to pursue any action against him.

Remember when the US hired a Spanish Security firm to spy on Assange while he was in the Ecuadorian Embassy, and our CIA got poopy diapers from the Embassy trash to run DNA tests on the poop to see if there was a match between Assange and the pooper?

Remember when the US’ star witness against Assange for the Superseding Indictment was identified as a convicted pedophile, embezzler, fraudster, and thief?

#Free Assange
