How many Freepers have been tested /treated for Covid19?

I would have to believe that the majority of veteran Freepers are over 50. Most prolific posters.

How would we know if and when we lose our favorites, and or their family members?

Just a test. You have a Rhino virus (not RINO).

My husband and I both had the long swab test (we were negative, it was back in May.)

I had had that type of test before when I had a parainfluenza and was hospitalized. To determine the type of influenza they did the long test.

So when I kept hearing people complaining about the long swab test, I told him he’d be the perfect test case, since I had had it once before and didn’t think it was a bad test. So when he had his swab done, he agreed with me, not bad at all.

I imagine it has to do with where one is in their life journey with health and how many really awful tests/procedures one has had.

My BIL, and sister both tested positive for COVID, no respiratory symptoms, just fever, aches, and gastrointestinal symptoms.

Active 64 year old here, have not been exposed to it to my knowledge and have not been tested. I have been working part time as a delivery driver for a local restaurant since last September and frankly with the rise of cases in north Texas I am surprised I have not had an exposure and I think it’s almost inevitable.

Tested twice and negative both times. First time I was having a hard time breathing and running a fever of around 100. Four days later I was in the emergency room barely able to breath at all still tested negative.

Is “Coronavirus” really multiple things or are the tests not very useful or did I just have the first medical issue in my life for some other reason (I am 59).

No test, no treatment, no symptoms.

They installed these automatic hand sanitizers at my office. Stick your hand under and it sprays out this stuff.

The thing is; it smells just like Monte Alban Mezcal Tequila. You know the crap tequila with the worm in the bottom of the bottle. Every time I use it I get flashbacks to my college years.

Wife and I had it in early March according to antibody test. Almost no symptoms. Both in our 60’s.

Haven’t been tested but as a preventative measure I’ve been giving my wife frequent injections of Dr. Romans two ball root juice. So far we are doing great.

I have a friend that has shocked me by his complete withdraw from society.
Saw him twice a week for 15 years. He hasn’t been seen by anyone for 3-4 months. He has no underlying issues except for the now one very obvious.

There are two primary reasons for a rise in cases... one of them is that tests are now widely available and people are being forced to have them even if they have no symptoms or exposures to get the pimple on their butt looked at. So a massive increase in the amount of testing is finding that the infection rate in the community in much higher numbers than previously assumed. That means that the death rate is about the same as many seasonal flu variants that no one has given a rats a$$ about in the past.

The other reason is that in certain parts of the country like Arizona, Southern California, and Texas... it is now hot outside and people have moved indoors using the AC to stay comfortable. This puts people in close proximity with others in enclosed spaces. Outside the sun kills off viruses, but inside a moist air conditioner cooling fins or worse a “swamp cooler” gives the little cooties a good place to gather and be recirculated. So your chances of getting sick are greater.

A Co-worker got tested because he went to a customer site. He is now in paperwork hell. He was negative. But HR sent the results to Blue Cross who called to interview him.

Legal had him fill out a four page document detailing his trip. He is now in the tracing system and regrets going for that damn test.

"The VA said they’d call me in two days with the results. Of course, they didn’t.

That is VA SOP. If they didn't call you, you ain't.

I happened to go in a few days later, and in passing, as a 69 year old man, while I was denying that I was pregnant, and whether I was lactating, I asked what my Covid status was, from the test where they stuck a swab into my nose, through a car window.

"Oh, uhm, negative..."

The VA is the ULTIMATE bureaucracy. A "The Book is my God! I shall have no other gods before it!" operation. It's the prime reason that the Communists want universal health care in the United States. They see no problem with treating people like a herd of sheep. Total equality. Everything is a number. If you have the numbers, you get scored and ranked.

Unlike normal health care, where the doctors have to at least pretend like the sheep are intelligent customers.

Don’t know anybody who had/has it. Not tested, nor been sick, wife either.

Unless, we had it WAY early. We both had something early, both got sick, me first, then her. Her sicker and lasted longer than me. Just attributed it to some nasty “bug”.

Who knows?
