Just wanted to post something happy for once.
So in honor of this day here is one of my favorite ways to make a chocolate treat that you can have for any time.
Take one sheet of (thawed) puff pastry.
Several bars of your favorite chocolate.
one egg beaten with bit of water (optional)
some sugar (optional)
Cut the pastry into two by three rectangles.
Place a 1 by 1 1/2 piece of chocolate on each piece of pastry.
Fold the pastry around the chocolate like you are folding a towel. DO NOT PRESS
Place on a parchment paper lined pan (makes clean up easier)
If you like brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle with sugar
Put into 425 degree oven for ten minutes
Remove and let cool.
Best when eaten still a bit warm but good when cold too.

So...white chocolate.
What's up with that?

It is yummy.
And it has it's own special day on September 22.
All Chocolates Matter!
Even that stuff that is so full of wax you can burn it like a candle.

I suppose you could make a mole sauce for any left over fried chicken you may have.

This reminds me of the time I made puff pastry from scratch, and one of the goals was a chocolate croissant.
Puff pastry from scratch, please God, rescue me.

Mmmm-Mmmm!

I have done it.
Will not ever do it again. You really need bakery equipment and room to do it properly. And if you get the real butter frozen kind it is good.

That has to be the saddest thing I have heard today.
Can you still eat white chocolate?

I think I needed a proofing oven, I did go all through folding and folding the butter in, then it didn't rise, so I put it in a 200 deg oven to proof which it did not appreciate and got greasy, but was edible. Yes, this is why we pay bakeries. 🤣

Well...it just isn’t the same....actually sugar is the problem...but I used to be able to eat dark chocolate w/o problems (72-90%)...now I cannot even do that.

Always thought having Chocolate Day in the middle of the summer heat was poor planning on someones part!
However, I will still partake! :)

Not real chocolate IMHO. Love the dark stuff. Especially covering almonds. Like it too much.
