Tuberville is Romney 2.0.
He better hope there are coattails for him on November with Trump, because stuff is going to come out about him.
Doug Jones has a good chance of being re-elected.
Sessions was MAGA before it was cool; Tuberville never was.
I’ll say this about Sessions—he did not betray anyone.
He set up Huber and Durham and kept it secret for a year. He re-started the Epstein investigation. He went after MS-13, drug runners, human and sex traffickers in a big way.
All while working with the worst of the Swamp in the DOJ and the FBI.
His role in stepping down was crucial to get Rosenstein to play his hand by appointing Mueller.
Legally, Sessions could not investigate himself as he had been part of the campaign, and had he not recused, that would have given Trump’s enemies even more ammo against Trump.
By recusing, the important work of the DOJ could move forward, with the enemies of Trump placated into thinking Sessions was ineffective.
Barr inherited a functioning DOJ thanks to Sessions.
Trump says they all got caught—that would not have happened without Sessions.
Sessions was the one Senator who had integrity.
His fellow Senators torpedoed him and he was barely approved as AG because they knew he was a straight shooter who had never been bought. And he would be coming after them. The Senate approved Rosenstein 94-6 as Deputy AG because he was the Deep State’s man.
Good luck, Alabama, with Tuberville.
Sessions will one day be vindicated.
You and I must respectfully disagree. I do not think Jones has much of a chance. But, I have been out of state more often than I am in, so what do I know? Time will tell. I hope Tubbs won’t disappoint.
I just read that the judge in the Maxwell case is an Obama appointed lesbian. Not good.
It is OK to disagree.
Sessions deserved far better than what he got tonight.
That shows you the power of the media—and of Trump, who knows the backstory and really should not have gotten so involved.
Sessions has been an exemplary public servant in Alabama and in DC, and a good Christian man of principle.
Alabama is going to learn about Tuberville now, what he is made of.
He refused to debate Sessions, but he will have to debate Jones.
I think that Jeff Sessions betrayed the President. He’s history, through no ones fault but his own. Now he can just fade away. He could have stopped the Russian collusion mess years ago, but he was afraid to rock the boat.

Trump soiled the WH Rose Garden with that performance. Presidents do not use the Rose Garden in that kind of naked political fashion. That was not a press conference, as the WH described it. It was a campaign rally disguised as a press conference. It was a bait and switch.— Jim Acosta (@Acosta) July 14, 2020

Sessions should not have run for Senate again. The lure of being in the worlds most exclusive club must be very strong.
