Because the CEO and President of Goya Foods, Bob Unanue, praised President Donald Trump, many liberals are boycotting his company. Unanue joined other Hispanic leaders at the White House on Thursday to take part in the Administration’s “Hispanic Prosperity Initiative” to promote economic and educational efforts.
“It’s suppression of speech,” Unanue told “Fox & Friends” hosts Friday. “In 2012, 8 years ago, I was called by Michelle Obama to Tampa and they were mentioning to launch a ‘MyPlate’ thing, it’s putting the nutritional pyramid into a plate of portion control. They wanted to approach the African American community, Hispanic community to eat more nutritionally. So, they called on us as the most recognized Hispanic brand in the United States and I went.”
He continued, “I went to the White House later and I introduced Hispanic Heritage Month, President Obama. And, so, you’re allowed to talk good or to praise one president, but you’re not allowed, when I was called to be part of this commission to aid in economic and in educational prosperity, and you make a positive comment, all of a sudden that’s not acceptable.”
Recognizing the existence of a double standard between the public’s view of working alongside the different administrations, Unanue added, “So, you know, I’m not apologizing for saying, and especially if you’re called by the President of the United States, you’re gonna say ‘no, I’m sorry, I’m busy. no, thank you.’ I didn’t say that to the Obama’s and I didn’t say that to President Trump.”

Nothing is beyond belief any more.
Do any of these boycotts, by the left or the right, even work any more? There might be a very short-term effect, but I doubt any long term effect. At this point, everything is being boycotted by somebody. How can you keep up with everything you are supposed to be outraged by? You would have to move into a cave & catch your own food to avoid purchasing or viewing a boycotted item.
I don't know why any businesses are scared into this crap anymore. They have been boycotting Tucker Carlson & now he has the highest rated cable show. So take your boycott & shove it.

President Trump will likely pardon long-time confidant Roger Stone near the end of the day Friday. While this is speculation, all indicators point to this being the case. The President has been expressing his dissatisfaction with the verdict for weeks, and today begins the final weekend before Stone is scheduled to report to prison next week.
Based on hints from the White House, they will be announcing the pardon ahead of the weekend. Friday’s are generally considered the best day to release controversial bombshells to allow the news to fade over the weekend before starting a new news cycle on Monday.

Alito Dissents: Court’s Decision Gives 2,300+ Local Prosecutors Power to Subpoena the President
He argued that presidents could be subjected to criminal subpoenas and prosecution after they leave office—or are impeached—but not while they are still serving.
One consequence of the court’s decision, Alito argued, was that politically motivated local prosecutors could subpoena the president for political reasons.
“As for the potential use of subpoenas to harass, we need not ‘exhibit a naivete from which ordinary citizens are free,’” wrote Alito in his dissent.
“As we have recognized, a President is ‘an easily identifiable target,’” Alito said.
“There are more than 2,300 local prosecutors and district attorneys in the country,” he said. “Many local prosecutors are elected, and many prosecutors have ambitions for higher elected office.”
“If a sitting President is intensely unpopular in a particular district—and that is a common condition—targeting the President may be an alluring and effective electoral strategy,” said Alito.
“But,” he said, “it is a strategy that would undermine our constitutional structure.”
“The subpoena at issue here is unprecedented,” said Alito. “Never before has a local prosecutor subpoenaed the records of a sitting President. The Court’s decision threatens to impair the functioning of the Presidency and provides no real protection against the use of the subpoena power by the Nation’s 2,300+ local prosecutors.
The constitutional provisions on impeachment provide further support for the rule that a President may not be prosecuted while in office,” said Alito.
“The Constitution not only sets out the procedures [impeachment and removal] for dealing with a President who is suspected of committing a serious offense; it also specifies the consequences of a judgement adverse to the President,” Alito said.
“After providing that the judgment cannot impose any punishment beyond removal from the Presidency and disqualification from holding any other federal office, the Constitution states that ‘the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment, and Punishment, according to Law,’” said Alito. “The plain implication is that criminal prosecution, like removal from the Presidency and disqualification from other offices, is a consequence that can come about only after the Senate’s judgment, not during or prior to the Senate trial.”
