What evidence does NY State AG Cyrus Vance have that a crime has been committed, and he needs the Presidents tax record to help him investigate that crime?
Because if Vance has no evidence a crime has occurred this is a fishing expedition.— Brian Cates //Flynn & Breitbart's Army! (@drawandstrike) July 9, 2020
SCOTUS Big Decisions: Rules NY DA Can Subpoena Pres. Trump For Tax Returns, Blocks Congress From Accessing His Finances

The U.S. Supreme Court made two important decisions Thursday regarding the governments ability to access Pres. Donald Trumps tax documents.
In the first decision, the court ruled that the New York District Attorney is allowed the power to subpoena Trump for his tax returns.
This is a tremendous victory for our nations system of justice and its founding principle that no one not even a president is above the law, Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance said in a statement of the decision. Our investigation, which was delayed for almost a year by this lawsuit, will resume, guided as always by the grand jurys solemn obligation to follow the law and the facts, wherever they may lead.
The second decision, however, blocked Congress from gaining access to Trumps tax records. Moreover, the issue will be handed down to a lower court.
Without limits on its subpoena powers, Congress could exert an imperious controul over the Executive Branch and aggrandize itself at the Presidents expense, just as the Framers feared, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote of the courts decision.
TULSA HEALTH OFFICIALS: "Trump Rally Likely' Source Of Virus Surge"
Apparently the large BLACK LIES MATTER / ANTIFA mob riots in Tulsa had nothing to do with the surge in virus cases.
That's their story and they're sticking to it!
Black Lives Matter, they don’t surge viruses.
Think Logically
1. SC just opened the door
2. Imagine what would happen, if, by law, every US Congressman/woman, US Senator, President etc. was by US law audited every 1-2 years by an independent agency.
3. What happen if those audits extended to all elected family members https://t.co/qHTV2aEcFp— X22 Report (@X22Report) July 9, 2020
I’m relieved to see Jay Sekulow agrees with me!
(Having a helluva debate over here .... :^D)
I know what you’re saying NIKK. I think the whole thing is beyond shameful. It belittles him in the world’s eyes. I keep clinging to my belief that God has placed President Trump, and will uphold him. With all that has been launched at this man thus far, it is a miracle he’s still standing, and I believe he’ll continue to win.
Yeah?
Maybe so - but there's a lot of lead poisoning going on in Chicongo, Baltimore and NY City.
And it ain't from chewing lead paint off window sills.

Supreme Court: No presidential absolute immunity on grand jury subpoena for Tax Returns, but separation of powers may protect from congressional subpoenas
In Vance, the court ruled 7-2 in an opinion by Roberts, Kavanaugh and Gorsuch concurring in the judgment, with Alito and Thomas dissenting. The Court rejected Trumps absolute immunity or heightened need claim, but left open that there may be other objections Trump can raise in the lower courts:
Two hundred years ago, a great jurist of our Court established that no citizen, not even the President, is categorically above the common duty to produce evidence when called upon in a criminal proceeding. We reaffirm that principle today and hold that the President is neither absolutely immune from state criminal subpoenas seeking his private papers nor entitled to a heightened standard of need. The guard[] furnished to this high officer lies where it always hasin the conduct of a court applying established legal and constitutional principles to individual subpoenas in a manner that preserves both the independence of the Executive and the integrity of the criminal justice system. Burr, 25 F. Cas., at 34.
The arguments presented here and in the Court of Appeals were limited to absolute immunity and heightened need. The Court of Appeals, however, has directed that the case be returned to the District Court, where the President may raise further arguments as appropriate.
Vance is a backhanded political win for Trump, since there will be more litigation and possibly a return trip to the Supreme Court. His goal is to drag things out so it doesnt affect the election. But it now leaves Trump open to innumerable additional investigations by politically motivated prosecutors.
In Mazars, Trump have more of a win. Another Roberts decision, with Thomas and Alito dissenting. The court overruled the enforcement of the congressional subpoenas, holding the lower courts did not adequately take into account separation of powers:
When Congress seeks information needed for intelligent legislative action, it unquestionably remains the duty of all citizens to cooperate. Watkins, 354 U. S., at 187 (emphasis added). Congressional subpoenas for information from the President, however, implicate special concerns regarding the separation of powers. The courts below did not take adequate account of those concerns. The judgments of the Courts of Appeals for the D. C. Circuit and the Second Circuit are vacated, and the cases are remanded for further proceedings consistent with this opinion.
This is another political win for Trump, as his accountants do not have to produce anything to the congressional Democrats for now.
So the headlines aren’t telling the whole story. I would like to read Thomas and Alito dissents on both.
Thanks ... that’s very nice.
It is a fishing expedition by Vance.
What he is looking for and hopes to find is payments to bimbos by Trump in order to keep them quiet.
Vance has stated that those payments would be in violation of campaign finance laws if they weren’t reported.
Do you think he will find anything?
I don’t.
But it sure doesn’t make it right.
She will love the sign.
Makes me smile every time I see it, like someone would pull my weeds, LOL
LucyT put this up, some revealing pictures or sure.
