Yes he was.
I saw him a long time ago when I was young.
Here I am later in age and grew to appreciate more than just his music but his patriotism and unwavering pride and love for our country.
Amazing to love more as we get older, thanks to people like Charlie Daniels. :)

President Trump’s Tweet was making the great point that NASCAR fans have been unfairly painted as RACISTS. Confederate flags at events or a garage pull that looks like a noose does NOT mean the race fans are bigots. These ordinary good folks need to be defended. Too bad it’s left to Trump step up and defend them.

The States that have signed the national popular vote agreement; it can’t go into effect until they get to 270 electoral votes, and they are close. The States passed this by legislation and Colorado has on the ballot for the people to decide whether to keep it or not. My question is, what if, down the line, people move around and the demographics change so that a once reliable liberal State votes Republican, yet enough States have joined the pact so the electoral vote goes for the Democrat? Mathematically it might not matter, but it seems to me the citizens of that State did not get to choose for themselves.

He was trying to be shot down because he was defending NASCAR fans. Tks.

Our side needs to back him and not jump on the media spin wagon. Too many Republicans are still apologist and need to take the OATH. Just my opinion.

SCOTUS made another decision that is making liberals, heads explode.

SCOTUS delivers “seismic shock” ruling on religious schools

U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday delivered a ruling civil liberties advocates warned could make taxpayers “underwrite religious education” — opening a massive crack in the bedrock principle of church and state separation.

The decision in the case, Espinoza v. Montana Department of Revenue, was 5-4, with the court’s conservatives in the majority.

The case concerned a scholarship program enacted in Montana in 2015, which provided individuals and businesses with up to $150 in tax credits to match donations to private, nonprofit scholarship organizations.

Shortly after the program was enacted, the Montana Department of Revenue put in place a rule that barred scholarship recipients from using funds from the program to pay for religious schools.

Three mothers who sent their children to a Christian school and relied upon the funds sued. The state Supreme Court struck down the program, prompting the high court challenge.

“A State need not subsidize private education. But once a State decides to do so, it cannot disqualify some private schools solely because they are religious,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority.

“Today’s ruling is perverse,” Justice Sonia Sotomayor said in a separate dissent. She wrote, in part:

The decision drew outrage from groups including the American Federation of Teachers.

AFT president Randi Weingarten said the ruling represents “a seismic shock that threatens both public education and religious liberty” and called it “a radical departure from our Constitution, American history, and our values.”

IMHO too many on our side just don’t get our President.

He says what NEEDS to be said, no spin, no PC.

It makes some on our side feel uncomfortable, worry about what the left thinks or will say.

Our President doesn’t care about that and neither do I.

SAY WHAT NEEDS SAYING!!!!!!

If Sotomayor thinks it’s perverse and The Teachers Union is outraged, it’s good enough for me.

Dozens of scientists at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the U.S. government’s handsomely funded medical research agency, have been fired over their secret financial ties to Communist China. It is not clear how long they went undetected or how much taxpayer-funded research they stole, but so far 54 scientists have been booted for failing to disclose a troubling financial arrangement with a foreign government. In the overwhelming majority of cases—93%—the cash came from China, according to an ongoing NIH investigation that started two years ago. Also, in most of the probes the targets were Asian men in their 50s. The bulk of the ousted researchers received generous grants from the NIH, a federal agency with a $41.7 billion annual budget.

The probe, launched in the summer of 2018, is being conducted by Dr. Michael S. Lauer, Deputy Director for Extramural Research at the NIH. It mainly focuses on 285 active grants distributed to institutions in 27 states and 59 cities, totaling $164 million. Investigators singled out 399 “scientists of possible concern” and found that 133 (70%) had an “undisclosed grant” from a foreign government and 102 (54%) had an “undisclosed talents award.” More than 150 committed other NIH violations. Nine percent of the researchers concealed ties to a foreign company and 4% had an undisclosed foreign patent. Around three quarters of those investigated had active NIH grants and almost half of the scientists had at least two grants funded by American taxpayers. Every year the NIH invests tens of billions of dollars in medical research by giving around 50,000 grants to more than 300,000 researchers at more than 2,500 universities, medical schools and other institutions throughout the country. Only 10% of the agency’s budget supports projects conducted by scientists in its own lab in Bethesda Maryland.

U.S. Medical Research Agency Fires Dozens of Scientists with Financial Ties to China

Only 10% of the agency’s budget supports projects conducted by scientists in its own lab in Bethesda Maryland.

Less than a year ago, a congressional investigation found that the NIH is among the government agencies that have long permitted Communists working in the U.S. to steal billions in taxpayer-funded scientific research. Others include the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Department of Energy’s (DOE) national laboratories. For years all have been deeply impacted by Chinese infiltrators stealing valuable research, according to a scathing U.S. Senate report that describes the probe’s findings. Investigators determined that billions of dollars in scientific research funded by American taxpayers has been stolen by China right under our noses and the U.S. government has no viable plan to stop the ongoing theft of the highly valued intellectual property. In the meantime, the publicly funded work is helping the Communist nation meet its goal of becoming a world leader in science and technology. “This report exposes how American taxpayer funded research has contributed to China’s global rise over the last 20 years,” the document states. “During that time, China openly recruited U.S.-based researchers, scientists, and experts in the public and private sector to provide China with knowledge and intellectual capital in exchange for monetary gain and other benefits.”

Outrageous!
