I cannot believe I missed my own anniversary.
I joined FR 22 years ago, during the height of the Clinton Impeachment. So many great memories. Met Henry Hyde with some local Illinois Freepers, protested Clinton when he was here in Chicago (He turned around and looked at us when I yelled "How's Monica's throat?") and so much more.
Hoping some fellow Class of '98'ers chime in and let me know they're still here.

Congratulations on your 20th year. It's been so fun to have you around. I can't think of anywhere else I would rather be than with you and my like minded freepers.
I missed mine too but I knew it was in June :D

I have 3/4 of my body burnt from previous flames, so the refreshing cool water of your compliment staves off my living hell for a little while.

Congratulations from a fellow Class of "98"-er, a fellow Illinoisan now retired in sunny Florida, and a fellow compadre of the late, great Rep. Henry Hyde.
(...is "fellow" sexist ????...hmmmm....)

First, I'm still pissed I missed the post with the phone# to call and get in on the fun and Second, we don't see the youngin's here on FR doing creative stuff like that these days do we?
Thank you SO MUCH for the memory!

LOL! If "fellow" is sexist I cannot imagine saying "gals" then today right?
I'm struggling to remember who all I met back in the day, did you and I meet around the time we all met Henry Hyde and then went to lunch as a group?

A virtual class reunion. The timing couldn’t be better. Oh and my usual late to the fray. Last to post. In this case we shall see, how many more are around to join the reunion.

It's a possibility, as Rep. Hyde liked to lunch with Du Page county pols, of which I was one at the time. Can't remember the names of the restaurants any more. After night meetings we sometimes met up with Henry at Andy's Restaurant in Oak Brook, and he and I used to sing old Irish songs together at the piano bar (both of us being of that lineage).
Those were the days, my friend.

“I can come to to speak my mind”
Not too sure about that comment.
I generally have not spoken my mind in 22 years. I have very carefully not spoken my mind so as not to offend the mods. or worse draw the ire of noted newer folks who managed to grow up with more than one Arschloch. I sometimes long for the olden days here where conversation was king. Nowadays there are a host of conversation killers that must love the one way sound of their own voice as they label the opposition right out of the box with one or more descriptive words designed to kill any rational thought or conversation.
Still it has been a very informative ride. Even here there are lines in the sand and opposing thought that requires a bit of personal sleuthing to reach a correct solution.
