I watch Tucker Carlson almost every night and I think I get an intelligent and balanced perspective on events. However, recently Tucker is giving a very insightful and powerful view of the news, but it is almost unbearable to watch. I feel that the US has toppled to the forces of anarchy. Tucker is warning us but it almost seems too late with all the events that have taken place.
I know this is wrong -- America is still strong and the mayhem on the streets are not reflective of the whole nation. However, by watching Tucker I end up depressed in a way that I can't easily shrug off. He is right to warn us and gives us valid reasons with many powerful visuals. I am just wondering if this depressive effect is also experienced by other viewers. And if so, what do you do about it aside from not watching?

When normalcy bias is forcibly removed the effect can be quite jarring. Depression comes when you see it and feel like you can’t take any action against it...the forces moving in one direction build enough momentum to appear irresistible.

I don’t own a TV, so it would be hard to turn it off. Yes, I believe a significant portion of American voters are that fickle and ill-informed, that they would associate the incumbent with current unpleasant circumstances and proceed to vote for whoever else is running.
