“People of Earth, your attention please.
“The outlying regions of the Galaxy require the building of a hyperspatial express route through your star system, and regrettably your planet is one of those scheduled for demolition. The process will take slightly less that two of your Earth minutes. Thank you.”

“There’s no point in acting all surprised about it. All the planning charts and demolition orders have been on display in your local planning department on Alpha Centauri for fifty of your Earth years, so you’ve had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaint and it’s far too late to start making a fuss about it now.”

Theres no point acting all surprised about it. All the planning charts and demolition orders have been on display in your local planning department in Alpha Centauri for fifty of your Earth years, so youve had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaint and its far too late to start making a fuss about it now.....Oh, for heavens sake, mankind, its only four light ears away, you know. Im sorry, but if you cant be bothered to take an interest in local affairs, thats your own lookout.

Could it be a Pulsar? There is one in the Crab Nebula that is very powerful. The Earth rotates on its axis once in 24 hours. The Sun rotates once in 26 days. The Pulsar rotates
once in 33 milliseconds. Check it out!
It is only 5,000 light years distance from Earth...
