I'm watching Gov. Walz ('RAT-MN) press conference and the lady doing the sign language is just over the top with her facial expressions and signing motions. I think she is just making stuff up.
Ridiculous. Her facial expressions were nowhere near matching his.
Very distracting to those not hearing-impaired.
I saw the same thing happen at a bowling alley. Two guys chest to chest, gesticulating wildly. No disrespect to the deaf but it was one of the funniest things I ever saw.
By the way one of Mayor Garcetti’s sign interpreters, a black lady, is a hoot. Completely pulls focus from his nibs.
My husband has noticed that ALL the the sign language people are LEFTY LOOKING LESBIANS...aka FREAKS!

I wonder why you frequently see state governments have some “sign language translator for deaf viewers” but I’ve never seen it done at the federal level. It would be weird if someone stood next to Trump, Obama, or Bush doing wild hand gestures every time he spoke. Also, why is it even necessary in the 21st century? Seems they could provide instant closed captioned comments whenever needed

My favorite ever was I think during Hurricane ... oops I mean Superstorm ... Sandy. Some public official was giving a conference and the sign language guy was suitably over the top with expressions but in the middle of it he seemed to get in a sign language fight with someone in the audience. It really got nutty while that was going on.

The funny thing is that Faux News goes back to those clips from time to time but I still have no idea what the guy was saying because I am so distracted by her antics.

Why don’t they use subtitles?
I have my CC on all the time. Sometimes that is funnier and more distracting than the signers.
