and charged with violating the state’s strict rules that tourists observe a 14-day quarantine after arriving.

Now his #newchallenge may be posting his $4,000 bail.

“We appreciate the assistance of local people who spot flagrant violations of our emergency rules on various social media sites and report them to the appropriate authorities,” Connors said in a statement.

Hawaii residents were apparently none too pleased with the New Yorker’s alleged rule flouting.

Been there, done that; nice beach.

A friend/airline exec used to go for almost free. He can afford anything he wants, says it is crazy expensive, and no longer on his travel list.

“Authorities became aware of his social media posts from citizens who saw posts of him..."

Someone who knows him ratted him out. I wonder if he can figure out who?

You would have that that the picture of him standing next to the Obama cut-out would have gotten him a pass.

What was the population of the Hawaiian Islands before the advent of Big Whaling?

Do they wish to return to that population density?

That’s nothing. When we moved there in the mid 50’s our dog had to be in quarantine for like 6 months or something. Maybe it was 3. Anyway..............

For an economy absolutely dependant on tourism this is economic suicide.

For the last 7 years, I’ve been to the Big Island about 12 times. My sister lives there, and I fell in love with the Island.

That said, there is a decent sized part of the population that HATES white people, nothing but scorn for tourists. Many of these are living on the dole. The better the economy was getting, the more hateful it became. You could go into t shirt shops with prints openly mocking whites/tourists.

My last visit was around St Patrick’s Day, and it was obvious that we were in the very last wave of tourists. The shop keepers in Hilo had a pretty despondent and sad look, and had drastically cut merchandise prices in an effort to come up with some much needed cash. The economy of Hawaii is going to truly suffer, and countless people’s lives will be ruined. All for a virus that is 99% hoax.

But in the eyes of the politicians, they have unlimited money that can be created by the government at any time.

I don’t think Hawaii is ever going to vote for Trump. It is as liberal as it gets. Is it any wonder it is being so foolish?

I don’t think Hawaii is ever going to vote for Trump.

Sadly true.
But if they can change to a total popular vote election...

” and I fell in love with the Island.”

A guy I worked with for about 30 years, had been a passenger on a NO LANDING GEAR LANDING and hated to fly.

His kids gave him an anniversary gift trip to Hawaii; he was smitten, aircraft, and all. After a few trips, they purchased a place, not a timeshare.

Retired and continued as a consultant for a month or so and off to Hawaii for a couple of weeks...

It happens.
