Them: we’d like to get a blood sample from you.
Me: (slashing wrists) here, take all you’d like.

Is this based on an estimate of actual cases or just the ones that were tested and found to be COVID-positive?

No surprise. Woodbury County, Iowa (Sioux City) and Dakota County, Nebraska (South Sioux City and Dakota City) had huge spikes due to outbreaks at meat plants in Dakota City, NE and Sioux Falls, SD.

True but what requirements are there for the news media to tell the general public?

It's not the news media, it's the Leftist activist agitators, the simply will not report news.

‘How Could the CDC Make That Mistake?’
The government’s disease-fighting agency is conflating viral and antibody tests, compromising a few crucial metrics that governors depend on to reopen their economies. Pennsylvania, Georgia, Texas, and other states are doing the same. - https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/05/cdc-and-states-are-misreporting-covid-19-test-data-pennsylvania-georgia-texas/611935/

Evaluating the state of a person requires the right tests. An asymptomatic, infected person may require a tracheal wash to find the virus (often undetectable in nasopharyngeal swabs). The symptomatic party is more obvious. What constitutes "recovered". Antibodies IgM/IgG in the blood at effective titer? Absence of viable virus in lung and stool samples? Non-viable viral fragments may remain in a "recovered" party giving false positives on RT-PCR...unless what is detected is a "new strain" gaining a foothold against ineffective IgG from the prior infection. It's a complex evaluation per patient. Amplify that by millions and you have a difficult problem.

A couple from my town went on a shopping trip to San Antonio. Brought back Covid 19.

This upcoming weekend is a good time to avoid crowds, especially crowds with a significant number of folks not wearing masks.

June and July are going to get ugly imho.

Fortunately, its now coming out that Corona Balogna virus is not as transmissible from surfaces as was once thought, so you won’t necessarily have to routinely disinfect your keyboard, or at least not as often.

Not buying it. Fomites have been studied extensively including those of SARS1 and MERS.

Isn’t the number of new cases reported always going to seem lower than it really is because it is always going to include only those cases where the symptoms first appeared and were reported on the same day?

Maybe this catches up with itself eventually and is a temporary distortion of the number of cases, but isn’t it true that the present days will always be smaller than they eventually will be, giving a false impression that the numbers are decreasing?

There’s those toes, again. It may not be “frost bite” but due to the high fever. Could be the body sending the fever to the extremities and it burns the toes.

Our county has doubled it’s cases since the opening.

As the guy said, “Stay home.” Traveling isn’t wise. Traveling to the big cities is even less wise. Going into large crowded stores is dumb. Hubby said a couple days ago that no one at Walmart was wearing a mask or gloves.

It doesn’t sound like they wore masks or gloves or took any precautions like disinfecting the trampoline or showering and washing their clothes after.

Hope his mother is ok. Hope his kids and grandkids are ok. Of course, they aren’t being tested.

Dear Kamala Harris, we call it the #WuhanCoronaVirus because that’s where it started. Just like we call call you #HeelsUpHarris, because that’s where YOU started. Oh, and then, of course, there’s that pesky little ditty called the First Amendment. #Nitwit https://t.co/30J23Gc3vr— James Woods (@RealJamesWoods) May 21, 2020

It looks like VA has two charts - new cases and the cases by date symptoms appear.

It’s interesting because the cases by symptom date is always going to look like cases are going down. I wish GA would do the same, but until then, I‘all keep tracking them myself.

Should have made them drop it 100% to stop the spread.

RVs were a good idea for housing healthcare workers and family members who had to go out to work. Now, every last one is being rented for vacationers thinking an RV will keep them safe from CV. Ok, so who rented the RV right before them? Who, if anyone cleaned it or looked around inside?

Yeah, it’s a good thing RV’s don’t need to stop at gas pumps and the family won’t need to go to restaurants or take advantage of a public restroom or grab some food that may have been coughed on and roadside attractions are virus free.

Oh, never mind, we’re being told today you can’t catch it from surfaces and there’s still no need for masks.
