Shortly after my colleague Sara Carter and I began reporting in 2017 on the possibility that the FBI was abusing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to spy on Americans during the Russia investigation, I received a call. It was an intermediary for someone high up in the intelligence community.
The story that source told me that day initially I feared it may have been too spectacular to be true was that FBI line agents had actually cleared former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn of any wrongdoing with Russia only to have the bureau's leadership hijack the process to build a case that he lied during a subsequent interview.
In fact, my notes show, the source used the words "concoct a 1001 false statements case" to describe the objections of career agents who did not believe Flynn had intended to deceive the FBI. A leak of a transcript of Flynn's call with the Russian ambassador was just part of a campaign, the source alleged.
The tip resulted in a two-and-a-half-year journey by myself and a small group of curious and determined journalists like Carter, Catherine Herridge, Greg Jarrett, Mollie Hemingway, Lee Smith, Byron York, and Kimberly Strassel to slowly peel back the onion.

Thats exactly what theyre trying to do, and their hardcore socialist base fully supports them of course. But I think the majority of Americans are waking up to the fact that the DemoRat platform is based on a bunch of lies. Its fiscally unsustainable. And it leads to a giant nanny state that most dont want, or may even fear. Recent events have made the projections of which party stands for what much more clear, and the Rat platform of giant government is being exposed as more likely to result in tyranny, than utopia.
I certainly hope so. The ability of homo sapiens to accept cognitive dissonance is very high.
wake me up when ....

Agreed. It actually would make good sense to tell the FBI that you couldnt remember, exactly, if theres even a shadow of doubt that you might misspeak, and that your error would therefore then go down as your official testimony.
More importantly, the FBI already had the transcripts of the call!
If he had done something actually illegal on the call, his testimony wouldnt have mattered that much anyway, not to someone on a witch hunt as they obviously were. He would have been charged on his actions. But since they couldnt do that, they tried to trip him up in the interview. To Flynns credit, he even got through that, it was only Muellers henchmen looking for a scalp later that ultimately brought the charge.
Most every country was damaged, so the effect will hopefully even out, and we are in a better position to recover than most. The important thing will be the changes made going forward, especially breaking the economic dependence on China. It will be hard, considering how much investment was made by the west into the factories over there. So in the current environment, government regulation, as much as we hate it, may be the only way. I say do away with the income tax and just rely on tariffs, the way the founding fathers planned, then nature would bring those factories back. Guess were way off topic now but enjoyed the discussion. Have a great day.
I have been ambivalent about prosecuting Obama and Hillary Clinton since 2016, and I still am.
Do they deserve to be punished for their manifest crimes? Of course.
But.
Arresting and jailing the losing Presidential candidate, or the ex-President - once that starts, it will never end.

That is simply stunning. Im at a loss for words - a rare event here at FR.

We are not talking about arresting and jailing them. General Flynn’s cause is a civil law suit , Malicious prosecution, Removing their estates and fortunes, diminishing them considerably.
Not a thing wrong with that. They financially ruined Flynn and his family without so much as a twig of remorse. Now its time to let civil justice take its course. They exceeded their lawful authority of their respective offices, damaged Flynn , created a civil cause in Flynn , a tortious cause of abuse of power and malicious prosecution. They became a group of racketeers and organized criminals. That invokes RICO.
And now the civil suit can proceed.
It has nothing at all to do with putting them in jail. It has everything to do with taking them for every last cent they have.
Just as the President said,”They are gonna pay!”
And by that the President meant literally in terms of millions of dollars.
Nice post. Very informative.>>>>>>>>>>>>
You are welcome.
I just put myself in the shoes of Flynn’s attorney. Now the righteous battle begins. And it will be very costly to the perpetrators.
What ever happened to Mueller. Did he end up in a home. He certainly looked as though he needed the rest.

I believe Mueller has retired. A RINO umbrella for the radial lefty lawyers to try and destroy President Trump.
Mueller will be forever infamous both as an unlawful treasonous , seditious enemy of the president, and as a mentor to the criminal James Comey. Barr was kind to Mueller, allowing him a way out .
Well phrased. Thank you.
Bookmarked.
They also violated the court’s order to turn over all exculpitory evidence to Flynn’s legal team.
Judges really, really hate it when people do that.
Its true, go to this just released video at the 10 min mark (or better yet watch the whole thing):

That’s probative evidence of malice in a malicious prosecution civil law suit, easily proven by a certified record from the court involved.

Still, the 6 months remaining until the election is a very short time interval for something like this. Sessions was really wasted in the DOJ position when he could have remained senator. At the same time, this investigation by Durham will become what Barr is famous for, if Trump gets re-elected, and he gets to finish it during Trump’s second term.
