Yes, we still have Swanny. It's so much fun watching him "swim and dive" in his kiddie pool. He loves it.
Good point. Someone needs to contact Graham.
They do, but it needs to be understood that questions and answers are negotiated ahead of time, and not much spontaneous questioning and follow-ups allowed.
Swal-not-so-well taking on Grenell on twitter is a hoot.
The little FART is in way over his head and if he’s not careful will get same head handed to him on a silver platter.
Thanks for asking Rusty.
He is not as lethargic, the mass oN his back drained, still have to spray It vet said. Has another mass, that isnt doing anything.
Used to call him my little camel.
He is eating turkey slices and rice and I put some cheese in it.
Got sick on the pills, had to stop them.
Hasnt gone yet to see if diarrhea cleared up.
Now sleeping in his usual spots.
I asked vet right out what his life expectancy is and he said maybe a year.
Hope so, that made my day.
Hubby is on 2 nd probation. LOL
He is in way over his head and apparently doesn’t even know it. If he was a Republican he’d be accused of being homophobic.

I read the transcripts. There were lots of questions from Democrats. Lots. You just didnt find any collusion when they were under oath - so the transcripts were the only thing you didnt leak to the DC media.

Weaponize? History lesson: Democrats were in the minority for the Russia Investigation it was a GOP-led investigation that allowed witnesses to not answer questions. And the Mueller investigation came from @realDonaldTrumps appointees. So, show us the Flynn tapes or buzz off. twitter.com/richardgrenell
I hope you are blessed with puppy for at least a year.
I’ll do a load down of Yoel Roth’s twitter page.

Hi. I’m Yoel. I work at Twitter. I have a PhD in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania, studying privacy and safety on gay social networks. I take a lot of pictures of my corgi.

I recently delivered the 2014 Mark Gordon Lecture at the University of Pennsylvania LGBT Center.

The article Im arguably proudest of from my time in grad school is outin print in Communication, Culture & Critique (paywalled, unfortunately). Its a look at content management policies on Grindr, Scruff, and Manhunt that traces how programatic attempts to control user-generated content impact the identities that gay men are able to share online.
The abstract:
This article examines the policies and practices that manage user-submitted content on 3 gay-targeted social networking services. While managing user-generated content is a common practice across social networking services, the policies implemented on gay-targeted services tend to be distinctively restrictive in scope and highly specific in formulation. This analysis identifies the technical, legal, and social affordances that authorized the creation of these policies. Framing content management policies as derived from the technical rules of platforms such as Apples App Store obscures normative judgments about proper self-presentation and community formation. Identifying the normative character of these policies requires an analysis rooted simultaneously in technology studies, media policy, and subcultural identity politics.

Be aware of misinformation campaigns about the coronavirus.
“Nearly half of the Twitter accounts spreading messages on the social media platform about the coronavirus pandemic are likely bots,” Carnegie Mellon University researchers estimate.
Ben.Nimmo (.Writer, analyst, linguist. Studying security, disinformation, responses to it. Director of Investigations,
Graphika_Inc
. RT endorsement).....THREAD: catching up, but when dramatic stories about social-media manipulation break, it’s really important to *calm down and look at the evidence*.
1: The “bots” claim was based on an article based on a press release.
As many experts have pointed out, theres no evidence that we can replicate.
But *evidence is everything*.
**
2: Theres a huge amount of complexity and nuance to the global conversation around Covid-19. My colleagues at
Graphika_NYC
have been mapping it for months.
**
3: Bots are basically pawns on the disinfo chessboard. Cheap, disposable and spammy.
Ben cont..You can use bots to amplify a message or harass a target. (Its an experience.)
But if the bots dont have human followers, all they can do is boost the numbers on a specific tweet or spam specific wording. Thats frankly a cosmetic change.
**
4: Disinformation actors love trying to claim theyre more effective than they really are (remember the 2018 midterms)?
Dont play into their hands.
Keep calm, and *look for the evidence*.

Agree completely on the need for skepticism here. Ive seen many cases where accounts that tweet more than humanly possible and appear to come from different countries turned out to clearly be run by people who care deeply about an particular issue.

Are automation & manipulation still a problem here? Yes. Should Twitter do better? Absolutely. But we researchers need to be precise in how we talk about different behaviors, including how we label bots. The problem is far more nuanced & our ML classifiers have limitations.

Ill have more to say on this shortly, but:
1) The methods, at least described in the press release, dont support the (very definitive) conclusions about bots.
2) Coverage of online disinformation/manipulation is broken. Regurgitating a press release isnt journalism.

Yoel Roth.....We’re proud to provide open access to researchers who want to study platform manipulation on Twitter and help us improve. Like all research,************* these studies should go through peer review and independent, external validation.

Yoel...We know that everyone from spammers to state-backed troll farms will try to target the most important conversations happening on Twitter. We’re staying vigilant, and share the results of our work (and comprehensive data) on our Transparency Center.

Yesterday we saw the incredible work of talented engineers at @NASA facility. Thank you to everyone at NASA for all you do & keep up the outstanding work!
Very entertaining like a child thinking they know more than the adult in the room.
And Grenell is working with the truth on his side and the little FART only has the usual lies which are being disproved daily.
