How can this level of tyranny be justified for what is really just the flu? Even though this overblown Wuhan flu crisis isn’t over, just think of the next virus pandemic when some children might actually die. The media will clamor for another lockdown - politicians will react accordingly because they don’t want the blood of the children on their hands. They now have the blueprint for obtaining more socialism in the future.
This social distancing is not natural. Anything that involves widespread, sustained and significant deviations from natural human behavior will lead to terrible consequences. And whoever suggests this deviation is likely a leftist tyrant.
Newsom is an idiot and closing California beaches because of Wuhan flu is idiotic. Is it truly healthier to be stuck in your home all day or to be out in the sun? At least some steps toward freedom are happening in some Red states - let’s keep the progress coming there.

The normal daily death rate for New York city is 145 people per day. What's the recent daily death rate been?
I am worried about the exact details of this epidemic because idiots like you are attempting to deny our liberties based on it.
And I think that is your primary focus. I'm well aware of what liberties are being threatened by current petty dictators in government, but I regard this as a separate issue from whether or not this disease is dangerous and extremely contagious.
Government threats to freedom does not magically make this thing harmless, and i'm not going to just embrace the idea that it's harmless just because I really really really want to believe the government is denying us our liberties.
Government coercion has nothing to do with how dangerous the virus is.
I demand accuracy because of this.
You aren't demanding "accuracy" when you don't bat an eye at the 30,000 to 60,000 estimate of flu deaths last flu season. Estimates with that wide of range are the antithesis of "accuracy."
In other words, you are judging the flu by one very loose standard, and judging Covid 19 with an irrationally tight standard.
And your motivation to use different standards to judge the two diseases appears to be concerns over what the government is doing, rather than objective analysis of the known characteristics of both diseases.
You're letting your worries about government color your science.
