Dozens of Mississippi motorists drove around downtown Jackson on Saturday, honking horns and encircling the Governor’s Mansion in an effort to get Gov. Tate Reeves to fully reopen the state.
The drive-thru rally, which lasted about an hour, was established by a group called Reopen Mississippi. A spokeswoman for the group told The Clarion Ledger that many in the state are hurting.
“So many of our beloved small businesses are closing,” Napp said.
The group said Reeves’ shelter-in-place orders violate Mississippi citizens’ rights and freedoms protected by both the U.S. Constitution and Mississippi Constitution.

Yeah, so many of those businesses will never reopen because the owners cast their financial lot into getting them off the ground in the first place. There are going to be a lot of boarded up storefronts when this is all over, and there’ll be plenty of blame to spread around. How can you totally eff up a country like the USA in three months over a damn bug? Even if you wanted to (and some obviously do), it’s mind-boggling.
Don’t you think it’s a little odd for the liberal press to be covering this story in a positive way? Almost as if liberals were part of the mix... and power.
Yes, it’s odd. Which means they’re up to something behind the curtain. Never trust the press in this country anymore.
Even the appearance of an agenda can undermine credibility.
Liberals celebrating “look how the Earth is healing” already want to implement these same controls. Furthermore, they’ve always said, “Our computer models say we have a bigger crisis, the world is ending.”
Now you get liberals already arguing we need to use the Wuhan virus crisis to justify continued oppression, censorship and GREATER control of the economy and consumption ... for your own good.
And never mind the massively incorrect disease models, trust our political demands despite the known biases in the climate models.
This is why the over-reaction to the Chinese coronavirus looks like a plot to take over everything ... though it may simply be liberal bullies taking advantage of a crisis.
We’re already seeing liberals line up women and Asians in scrubs standing in protest against the conservative protestors. It makes conservatives look “anti-science” and a threat to public health. And it justifies oppression in the name of public safety.
