Sunlight, heat and humidity may have a powerful impact on killing the coronavirus within one or two minutes, a Department of Homeland Security official said on Thursday.
Increasing temperatures, humidity and sunlight are detrimental to coronavirus saliva droplets on surfaces and in the air, Homeland Security official William Bryan reported at a White House press conference.
President Trump said of the emerging results, The whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute, thats pretty powerful.
Trump said, We want ideas to get rid of this thing, and if heat is good and if sunlight is good, thats a great thing as far as Im concerned.

Everyone knows this. President Trump called this a long time ago and was mocked for it.
Democrats are hoping that this virus isn’t so easily killed. I’d say praying, but we know they don’t pray.
Don’t they have sun, heat, and humidity in Ecuador?
Can we inject that sun light into the body? /sarc
Just making fun of the crazy twitter comments today
I think Fauci already said this is not the case and sun and warm won’t do a thing.
“Dont they have sun, heat, and humidity in Ecuador?”
That is a darn good question.
Keep those parks and especially beaches CLOSED! /s
I want them to test very high heat and very low humidity. I live in Phoenix and summers are usually around 110 with less than 10% humidity. For years they sent people here with TB or asthma, arthritis all kinds of lung problems.
“Trump said, We want ideas to get rid of this thing, and if heat is good and if sunlight is good, thats a great thing as far as Im concerned.” and drink bleach and inject Lysol.
I float in the 104 degree hot tub every day under the morning sun. Its pretty damn good for a beat up old hound like me. Anyway, the heat, the sun, and the humidity work together to prevent covid infestation, or any other crummy disease. Old timers: spend the money on a hot tub its worth it
Quito sits at 9400 feet and is right in the equator, but Guayaquil is at sea level and that appears to be the area that is hardest hit.
Guayaquil is hot and humid, Quito is not.
I was thinking of Guayaquil, having seen YouTube videos of bodies being abandoned or burned in the street.
As to why the two cities have different rates of infection, I have no idea. Could it have been a bigger injection of virus in a port city versus the capital? Does high altitude UV play a part? It would be interesting to study.
Guayaquil is the business center, while Quito is the capital. Quito is a beautiful city with amazing weather.
Guayaquil has a greater population density and they believe the infection was introduced by business travelers from Spain.
There is not a virus known to man that can survive heat or UV rays.
It’s why any deployment of a bio-weapon would always be considered to be done at night.
This isn’t specific to coronaviruses or this individual one.
They want us to all be afraid of it. Sorry, but I will get more concerned about a large critical mass of unemployed, hungry, and impoverished people if this goes on long enough.
Gee! Ya mean like every OTHER virus under the sun?
Funny. We have a vaccine against regular flu and STILL 50-80K DIE from it each year, normally in the fall and winter months...and then we don’t hear jack shiite about it the rest of the year!
How is this virus any different? Less people have died and we don’t even HAVE a vaccine for this thing!
This is the biggest man-made economic DISASTER in our History.
Enough, already! Get us back to work, Mr. President!
So... now it sounds like we 'Should have Spring Break in Florida'! Everyone, come on down to the beaches. To socially distance you will each need to drive down, one person per car (gas is cheap). Trade your Corona-Virus for a Corona & Skin Cancer...
Just give me one single instance when Fauci has been right on anything.
So, to explain the difference between Quito and Guayaquil, you’re leaning towards the number of travelers injecting the infection. Sounds reasonable.
Been proved to be a lie.
