Spain seeks refund for defective coronavirus tests, after replacement kits also prove faulty

- 21 ABR 2020 - 08:51 CEST The Spanish government is trying to get back the money it paid for 640,000 antigen coronavirus tests that it purchased via a Spanish distributor from a Chinese company called Bioeasy. The move comes after the health authorities found that the kits – which were meant to replace another lot that was found to be faulty – don’t work either. As happened the first time around, these tests do not have the sensitivity required to detect the virus, meaning that there is a high chance that they won’t detect the coronavirus in a person who has been infected. Bioeasy sent a sample of these kits, which use a fluorescence method, and they were analyzed by the Carlos III Health Institute in Madrid. On seeing that they weren’t sufficiently sensitive, the government decided to cancel the entire order. The Health Ministry has confirmed to EL PAÍS that the process has begun to recover the money that was paid for the kits. The ministry has still not made public how much the order from Bioeasy cost, nor has it identified the mysterious Spanish intermediary who carried out the operation. The Health Ministry is not publishing the purchasing contracts for health material during the coronavirus crisis, despite the fact that the Public Procurement Advisory Board, which reports to the Finance Ministry, has issued a report stating that it should.

At the end of March, the Health Ministry was forced to return 58,000 of the so-called rapid coronavirus tests from a total of 640,000 that it had purchased from the same company. The kits were due to be used for health professionals as well as workers and residents in senior homes.

Chinese quality. If they can't steal it you can guarantee it's crap. Yet California wants to buy a billion dollars worth of masks from them even after other countries have said they are garbage.

I’m amazed at the poor contracting practices. What happened to an upfront deposit and balance on acceptance?

When will the world wake up and realize that we’re all being played as fools by China - both the CCP and its industries as a whole.

“Bioeasy won permission from the European Union on March 12 to sell four of its Covid-19-related products, including the quick test kit, in the EU. None of these products have been approved by Chinese regulators yet and they are not available in China.”

Okaaaaaay....

The Chinese are actually quite capable of producing quality. In Taiwan and Singapore, their quality is world class.

Even on the mainland, they are capable of doing it. But why bother when suckers will pay good money for crap?

Lots of luck in that crusade. If you do get anything from them, it will probably be a certificate for 10% off your next purchase of an IPhone knockoff or Windows10 upgrade.

What makes you think that Taiwan and Singapore are comparable in any way to Red China? They sure don’t think they are.

I have noticed, through work, that recently Red China HAS been capable of producing high quality electronic products for its own market.

It uses production technologies stolen from Apple.

I’m sure it’ll go much differently for Spain’s project to install a Hwawei 5G network nationally...

The Spaniards buy bad kits. Then they request replacement kits from the same ChiCom company that screwed them in the first place. Can’t make this stuff up.

I think that the Spanish are catching on.

And I don’t think that they will soon forget the 20,000 of their countrymen that China murdered with their ChiCom Bioweapon, either.

I think California already paid almost half of that billion dollars up front to China for those masks. And Governor Newsom is refusing to answer any questions about it.

And we buy 95% of our prescription from these Chinese scam pharma companies. The drugs are cheap, but they don’t work. Medicare should not be paying for defective drugs, such as the blood pressure drug Losartan that was taken off the market twice.

The 5G will probably be okay since they stole the technology from Cisco.

“It uses production technologies stolen from Apple.”

Actually, the contact manufacturers working for Apple have gone far beyond what Apple was doing when they made things themselves. I don’t think that any company on the planet has the capabilities of Foxconn. They learned from everyone. And, they have a nearly unlimited supply of hard workers.

Western business was lured to China by a promise of its market. A promise never intended to be honored by China’s government, which IS China’s business.

It is amazing how much you can get from a greedy Capitalist when international patent law and human rights mean nothing to you.

Still, I was rather looking forward to China’s space program. I expected the spectacle of carnage to make the Evil Kenevil of my youth look like some kind of expert on safety.
