maybe virus is more readily transmitted via food tools and material than had been earlier suspected(?)

could this possibly cause revisiting consideration of earlier infected cruise ship docking experiences?

I went back a couple of days but did't see where NY made a large dump. Today, many states had increases. New Jersey for sure had a large increase. From reading the blurp worldometers issued about NY, it appears their thinking is to distribute the additional numbers according to the date the deaths occurred. Not sure what that will do to their historical data...I guess is all gets updated.

Black Agnes' take on what may have caused the increase makes sense to me, especially considering, as Lil noted, it was the Easter weekend.

Your suggestion to give my graph of projected fatalities a chance, is starting to make mores sense now. I may have been trying to chase the numbers too closely. :)

So I'm thinking some sort of averaging over several days may help to settle down these large variations in data. Waiting to see what tomorrow brings, for now.

Levity post (why does it feel like it fits? I don't know. Maybe it doesn't.)

The US spike kinda has me in down tonight. We had 6 days in a row where the numbers went down, so I suppose a spike was to be expected, sooner or later.

Maybe the Louisiana numbers added to the spike, as well?

Flibros and doomsters, reasonable ones, are being forced to agree at this point. with the re-opening imminent
The unreasonable ones are fighting that. Hard.

Yes, Louisiana had a significant increase as well. Agnes’ theory would apply to all states. Either that, or the Easter weekend cause a delay in reporting the data. We’ve been seeing spikes on Mondays. Maybe Easter pushed the normal Monday spike to Tuesday? CDC should be the clearing house for this data, and set the standards, and the go to for the most accurate publicly available data. If not them, them one of the other agencies, IMO.

If your state is one of the ones that are opening, I guess that makes sense.

We were one of the last, if not the last, to shutdown.

I suspect we’ll open up if not first, then close to the first.

We plan to make a stocking up run a few days before that happens.

It will allow us to avoid UNnecessary trips other than hubby’s to work and home.

“Symptom of covid: disfigured toes.”

Interesting, because I had that kind of syndrome (but only one toe and less pronounced than in the Twitter picture) in early Feb. when I had my first go-round with what I thought was a mild case of CoV. It was quite painful and I never could see/figure out what was going on (until now). There was no sliver or problem in sock/shoe or any obvious cause. Then one day, after maybe four days, it was gone. I have had gout attacks but it was not gout.

Good plan.

You can save time by outfoxing the slow learners. Go when it’s raining out or at night.

“The lead Stanford researcher, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, anticipates having the results from all 10,000 Covid-19 antibody tests by Friday. He says his research should be peer-reviewed and published within two weeks:”

Fascinating. Done with baseball orgs.

I’m not a Flubro, and I don’t think I’m a Doomster either.

I want to go ahead and create my own category, I’ma call it Scaredy Cat. I can’t think of a better way to describe myself on this, I don’t want to get it, I have 3-4 co-morbids, big ones. I think it will kill me, and I don’t want to pass it to my mom or anyone else. That’s the basis of my fear, anyone is free to join Scaredy Cat group with me, membership fees are mostly nominal, I promise.

That being established, my thoughts on opening up the economy are these. We have to try. We may open it up and find out it was not a wise thing to do at all, but we have to try. As Americans, we have to err on the side of being free, even if it means death. Even if it means my death.

As far as my mom goes, she simply said this, “Son, I’ve led a good life”, and I know that she has. It makes me sad to think about this though.

If we keep everyone locked up, then we’re already dead in spirit. Do I want to live like that? I do want to live, but not like that.

My situation won’t change with economy opening. I’ll still have to lay low and hope for the best, but if other people want to try this, I won’t try stop them. I want them to succeed, because America needs this success.

Lord, please lift up our country and our people. Heal those who are sick, and guide us out of this darkness.
