Yesterdays thread is here: http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3831016/posts
“Id rather be broke than dead. How about you?”
I choose dead. Life in Heaven would be better than life in penury, and limited social interaction (that WILL happen), on earth post-virus.
“my neighbors kids want to pet them.”
I’m not even close to being an expert, but that seems like a bad idea — not just for you, but for the puppies. If it’s true that animal-human contact could have been involved in starting this — I don’t know — I’d be wary.
Yes I did, but using side exist of the building rather than lobby.
Of course, all you said is TRUE. I’m going to try to make face masks today, and there are a bazillion patterns online. I’d just like to see it more detailed.
Nursing home that my wife works at just sent out a text saying they’ll be handing out masks to all employees and they’re to be worn at all times and left at the facility at the end of the shift. What was odd is they say they’ll supply brown paper bags for people to keep them in. I told her to bring a ziploc from home. When you buy a mask for 3M spray painting, it comes with a ziplock mylar coated plastic bag to prevent the charcoal from absorbing things while not in use. I have no idea what kind of masks they are or how long people are supposed to reuse them day after day. Don’t know if they’re planning on disinfecting them somehow. Guess she’ll find out next shift.
Maryland “Freak State” PING! to #650.
Thanks, much...for the links.
Maybe someone should download her vids, before they’re flushed down the YT black hole.
They are hard to find now, but before this virus they were everywhere. Many people I know, including myself, have always had N95 masks on hand. If you work with or around wood, drywall, spraypaint, fiberglass insulation, do any sanding or home improvement/hobby work, these things are standard equipment. They are used extensively in non-medical industry and trades. Most people probably got them from Home Depot for use at home or from someone they know in a trade.
I doubt that animal to human contact actually started this, but all it takes is for someone with virus on their hands to have pet a puppy before someone else pets it, I’d think.
Meanwhile, this amazes me. We have shrunk to something so much less than citizens. NYC is handing out three free meals a day for anyone coming to pick up the day’s meals at the alloted time, at any of 435 locations in the City. No questions asked:
For those who want to know exactly what it is like to be really sick with this. Here is the experience of a college student. The interesting new idea is using hot water or turmeric milk to deal with the lung/throat congestion. I imagine hot tea would work, and especially slippery elm tea. From the description I imagine hydration is very important.
“I have been tested positive for covid 19 and today is the 10th day, well I am recovering now. I want to share my experience, how it really feels like having corona virus in your body.
On the very first day symptoms high fever and headache, the next day vomiting dizziness and fainted four times in a day, and eventually need to call for an ambulance and admitted in hospital, they just kept saline bottle and tested for the covid 19 and later that day midnight around 1:30am sent me home. Came home and slept and woke up started fainting as I was having no energy to speak, stand or walk somehow with the help of my housemates I took some fluids gained some energy and I was having a different kind of sensation in body which I have never experienced in my life, which doesnt make you sit, stand or sleep.
It feels like your body is continuously working on something may be it was battling against the virus, It is more like something sitting on your chest which will irritate you so badly, how much ever you eat or drink you energy drains so fast like charging mobile to 100% after using just an hour your battery is critically low, and it continued for the next seven days and when it come to breathing thick mucus stuck in the throat which doesnt comes out to spit or we cant swallow it. Tried many ways to get rid of it, which was causing shortness of breath until you drink some hot water or turmeric milk it was not melting and coming out to spit or swallowed into your stomach and then it gives some relief and I was taking these hot water for every 15 mins and which allowed me to breath properly.
When ever I feel low energy immediately there was a temperature in body and I used only Tylenol (paracetamol). Even after 9 days still I feel exhausted, the diet which helped me to cope with this virus and to have some energy rice, eggs, glucose dextrose, bananas, oranges, apple, lemon, turmeric milk and hot water every 1520 mins and I forgot to mention about the lab test results were informed by the doctor on the same day I discharged later in the afternoon around 3:20pm I received a call from the doctor that I have been tested positive for covid 19 and said that I need to self isolate myself for the next two weeks.
I says that no one should go through this virus as I have seen the worst phase of my life in the past few days being far away from your parents coping with the loneliness and battling with this virus is not an easy task. Why the govt is stressing so hard on this virus and why the old age are dropping you will come to know when you experience this virus.
So, please stay home, dont leave your home until unless it is very urgent nothing is more important than your life. Luckily I was having some helping hands and they helped me a lot with the food and all necessities every day and I wanna thank them and may god bless all the people that helped me and prayed for me.”
I tend not to like to think about verse 21...but I’m afraid this might be it - if you get my drift.
Covid lives a lot longer on plastic than on paper. I think something like 3 days to 1 day, so paper bags makes sense.
Good idea
I dont think this is a bad idea.
How many people will take the meals if they dont need them?
Still no TP, or paper towels. But my wife scored on 10 lbs of pistachios - yeah we both like 'em. :)
After 1 week, we need to get out of the house. Took all the precautions including eye protections. Only about 50% of the people wearing masks. Last trip, about 1 week ago, only 5 in 100 had a mask - so I guess people are starting to take this more seriously.
To all who offered their prayers for my niece, a big thank you! She is back home in self-quarantine, still very sick, but alive, thankfully!
Be safe out there in Freeper land...:)
Speculation (obviously) on your part. Please re-read what the CDC recommendation regarding masks.
There are two major hospitals in this area. One of them is tier 1 research hospital and major academic hospital.
Healthcare is a very significant part of the local economy.
That would be my guess as to where most of them got the medical masks.
