Italy has extended its lockdown until 13 April but recorded its lowest death toll in more than a week, reinforcing indications that the coronavirus epidemic both there and in Spain may be reaching a plateau.
Experts say we are on the right track and the drastic measures we have taken are starting to yield results, said the health minister, Roberto Speranza. He warned, though, that it would be unforgivable to assume this was a definitive defeat of Covid-19 and it would be a long battle.

Well, Ukraine said it has no coronavirus at all although records enormous number of deaths from ‘flu’ in Western provinces.
Interesting. MeCram did a video about hot and cold therapy a couple of days ago. There’s some info about saunas at about 12:15 in the video.

Well Russia has just sent tons of advanced ventilators straight to NYC.
But even without a quarantine, these people will still return to their overcrowded tenements at the end of the day after working long hours in restaurants, nail salons, and massage parlors. Seems to me that they have a greater risk of contracting and spreading the virus to people they live with without a quarantine than with a quarantine.
(Aren't they supposed to be Terrible People?)
My business partner is based in Italy’s Tuscany region has been closed for a week but plans to re-open April 13.
His name is appropriate under the circumstances.
I have my son who just came from Como under quarantine right now.
The core problem with the âlock downâ strategy is that only works if everyone is single. Everyone is not single. Most people cohabitate in groups. If one individual from a group lock down becomes infected they then infect the rest of the group, causing multiple infections. Then others from the group typically will do the same in other groups. Most health-care workers for instance live with their families and end up infecting them because their families are locked down and so on and so forth Lock downs do not work and Italy and Spain are the best examples. The United States and especially New York are about to become another example. Wearing a mask at all times is the only true detriment to this virus and the quicker Americans start doing that the better off they will be.
The relations outside groups are more rare than inside. You might infect a very limited number of people inside your group and then if they pract8ce isolation it won’t spread further.
Yes. But then they will spend far fewer hours cooped together per day. And the grandparents are out at the Flushing Meadows park with the grandchildren, getting exercise and fresh air which all helps with their overall health and resistance to diseases.
I lived in Flushing for 5 years by the way. I have quite a few Chinese friends.
Seems to me that they have a greater risk of contracting and spreading the virus to people they live with without a quarantine than with a quarantine.
No. On the one hand, you are cooped together in overcrowded tenements 24 hours a day, breathing the same air with coronaivirus infected younger folks. On the other side, you are out in the wide open spaces of Flushing meadows Park getting in lots of exercises and fresh air during the day. Not even close.
Especially in the overcrowded tenements that the immigrant communities live in in New York. They are breeding grounds for any air borne diseases, not just coronavirus.
Certo!
