The American death rate will be far lower than the Italian and Spanish death rates - even with falsely attributing deaths of people with severe preconditions to Corona. Expensive drug cocktails recommended by Trump are helping many people. This will wind up being approximately as deadly as the h1n1 flu of a decade ago. Fauci is wrong to say 100-200k will die.
My concern is for the greater harm this shutdown will have on the economic lives of people and for the loss of constitutional rights. Hoping for an Easter end to this lockdown - end of April is excessive.

Just checking in. I’m bored with the whole thing and just want to get on with my life. I’m in an out of the way spot. One boss told me I needed to get out to a place with better medical facilities should I need them. Another boss said to stay put. I wish they would let me assess what is happening around me and then act accordingly.

What are you basing your findings on? According to Fox News the worldwide reported cases are 730,000+ and the deaths are 34,000+. That represents 5% of the people who get this are going to die-far greater than any flu.
One can argue about unreported cases, blah, blah, blah. But this doesn’t match other flu models. When Russia and China are sending help to Italy in the form of bioterrorist and chemical treatment, one has to think this isn’t just the flu.

Dr Fauci gives a range of 50,000 to 200,000. He describes the upper limit as 100,000 or 200,000. Nobody in their right mind gives anything but a very broad range because nobody knows how many this will kill.
Nobody knows how many bonehead things others will do. For example, two funerals were held in SW GA that account for many deaths in a sparsely populated corner of the state. It take a bonehead licensed funeral director to allow large crowds at funerals in this season?
Other than those 2 funerals, the #1 spread of the virus has been church services. The pastors, the congregations knew they would be passing the virus and held church services anyway. That is not pro-life behavior.

Dr. Fauci tends to overstate the degree of the spread and intensity of the COVID-19 Wuhan virus, and his predictions of 200,000 deaths is a little premature. The total shall be nearer to a bad year for the various strains of the flu taken collectively. Several simultaneous developments will mitigate this assumption by a great deal, one of which is the more widespread adoption of the hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin protocol to essentially stop the growth of the viral population in its tracks and avert the collateral bacterial respiratory infections. Another is the collection of blood plasma fractions from recovered Wuhan virus victims, to provide a temporary immunity, and yet another is the development of an effective vaccine to extend a more permanent immunity to even contracting the disease in the first place. Heroic efforts to treat the most serious cases with the use of respirators and even hyperbaric oxygen therapy for those of whom are most severely affected shall become a rare and notable event.
Another side effect is to move most if not all our medical supply and pharmaceutical production chains as much as possible back onshore, and assure that the research efforts continue and are modified as necessary to provide a much quicker response in some future emergency.
And finally, the whole ideology that has supported “globalism” is finally put to rest, as it is only a more modern form of the concept of colonial exploitation that caused so much mischief and grief for several centuries preceding the 20th Century.
Still only a few thousand supposedly dead from the virus yet the flu is still 30 times that death rate. No one is freaking out about the flu.

What you guys seems to be forgetting is that this isn’t about death rates, its about higher than normal flu-caused pneumonia rates, the resources and equipment needed to save lives; that this virus is on TOP of the regular flu rates and deaths.
80% of SARS COV2 are likely to survive, but between 1.70-2% will not survive. Most of the 2% will be your parents and grandparents. No one has any immunity to this; everyone can get it.
Having had pneumonia twice, I can assure you that it is not something anyone should experience - unless you find extreme difficulty breathing pleasurable on top of all the other problems. I, for one, would take the flu all day over this crap.
