After seeing the current stats on negative vs positive virus tests in NM we are wondering if it is reasonable to drive into Albuquerque to replenish our stock of tp and food. We live 60 miles southeast of Abq so it is not a trip just to pick up milk. We do not have a crisis but are both at risk, 80 years old with diabetes or asthma, so we are very prudent about shopping now. We go to Smiths, Albertsons, Walmart, and Costco. Would somebody please advise us as to the current (3/28) condition of the stores? Thank you so very much.

I have no way of knowing about the current supplies. But I would ask a friend or neighbor or relative to go for you.

It may be hard to ask for help, but in this situation, ask.

shelves are stocked here in the UP of Michigan. Enough TP, Eggs and Milk. The only thing out of is canned tuna in water. Do you have a neighbor that can shop for you. I do that for my elderly neighbors.

Small town in southern Wisconsin.... yesterday, still empty paper products isle. We are stocked up at home, however, having gone to Sam’s before anyone but Freepers even heard of this virus.

Based on my travels around three states, the morons are still hoarding it. Same goes for hand sanitizer.

Small store at end of the road was out this morning.

The reason we are out of TP is people are having to eat their own cooking.

Here in OKC I received a shock. I sent to Sams (kind of like Costco)_there was a mountain of toilet paper.

I am sure most Freepers know this, but for the few that don’t,

even in the early 90s there was no toilet paper in the Eastern Bloc.

The solution was to cut PRAVDA in to squares.

In Poland, there was a specific job older ladies had to do just this - -

And there was a little stack of PRAVDA squares by the toilet.

Maybe you can think of a modern equivalent!

My son scored a 12 pack at wally world earlier today. They were restocking, and the supply lasted not long at all.

Can you use the pickup service rather than going into the store?

First time in 2 weeks my Walmart (SE Ill.) has had TP. Not a great selection but 1/3 of shelves were filled. Also has Kleenex which was a surprise.

The parking lot was half full of trucks though.

People finally got saturated at home I suppose. Food items are slowly but surely beginning to fill up as well.

The shortage of TP is an issue of stupid politicians. One of the most basic laws of economics is the law of supply and demand. Yet politicians pass non-price gouging laws that subvert the law.

If the price of TP were allowed to go up as the law of supply and demand require, eventually the supply would replenish and the price would come back to normal
