If eyes are windows to the soul, what was left behind in the grocery stores after coronavirus panic buying are windows to what Americans wont eat even in extreme circumstances.
People began sharing pictures on social media of what items were left behind after the shopping surge. The foods such as cauliflower crust pizza or chocolate hummus and the empty shelves once stocked with more appetizing foods are juxtaposed.
Carrot spirals were unpopular enough that Twitter users from different Trader Joes locations shared their pictures of the same stacked up boxes.
Chocolate and buffalo hummus were also left behind, confirming that the flavored hummus debate hasnt been settled.
Vegan and plant-based can be seen in proportions that appear recently stocked.

fish cant be stored unless frozen and even then will freezer burn if frozen to long. that’s why you don’t see much stocking of fish...real question is how much canned fish like tuna or salmon was on the shelves.

Wife reports that the local WalMart was stocked pretty much normally this morning - except, oddly enough, no sugar free cookies.
If you have rice flour and yeast you can make your own home made rice bread.
A chemist friend of mine said that they added salts to the water to make it taste good.
Alas, your suggestion exceeds my kitchen talents. Boiling water, setting the microwave correctly, and scrambled eggs are just about the limit for me.

I have to say the Kroger near me was pretty well stocked yesterday afternoon. They even had TP, but were limiting you to 2 4-packs. Plenty of milk, juices, tea, canned goods, lots of yogurt, cereals, coffee, snacks, meats, and produce. Last Sunday evening was a different story, but they have restocked.

well today is Fish Friday...we didn’t want fish so we just went meatless....
That’s everywhere. Meat freezes while most fish is best fresh.
In canned veggies all that’s left is cut green beans, sweet peas, weird stuff.
Soups all creams of something. Except at holiday season, cream of mushroom and chicken disappear.
