Oil dropped 23% to a more than 18-year low on Wednesday as the coronavirus pandemic continues to sap demand for crude and as rising worries about a global recession lead to fears of longer-term demand destruction. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell 23.78%, or $6.41, to $20.55 per barrel, its lowest level since Feb. 2002. WTI is on pace for its third worst day on record.

International benchmark Brent crude shed 13.75%, or $3.97, to trade at $24.76, its lowest level since 2003.

Under the distraction of the virus, Russia and Saudi Arabia are waging a war on the US energy sector.

All foreign imports of oil should be banned immediately until the balance returns to the energy markets in the US. This means at least breakeven pricing for oil companies. We have used tariffs repeatedly to protect other companies from illegal dumping but we are going to sit by and allow one of the biggest sectors of our market to be destroyed by foreign firms. Block all imports until further notice.

Actually it was Saudi and Russia fighting each other over quotas.
This not good for either of them especially Russia. But we are also taking a hit.

President Trump understands the economy better than anyone in DC.

Therefore he must know that there is no way the federal government can underwrite all of the personal, family, business and investment losses this shutdown is going to cause. If this government demonstrably can not underwrite every persons’ medical care, it certainly can not underwrite their entire financial lives. So the end result can not be anything other than financial ruin for the nation.

Therefore, it is imperative that he ignore the advice he has been getting from the same egg heads that predicted the end of snow, the rise of the oceans that were to have flooded NYC and Miami and end this madness of shutdowns, talk of martial law, local state of emergency, citizens involuntarily forcibly banned from the streets, etc.

Either it ends immediately or the living conditions that have made this country the envy of the world will be forever ruined beyond repair.

This country went through WWI, WWII, NKorea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, the flu epidemic of 1917-1918, the polio epidemic and countless more deadly “seasonal” flu epidemics...and never during all of that history imposed such draconian laws, rules, regulations on the public.

It must stop or we are done.

Who the heck other than rich people trying to ‘green wash’ cares about Tesla cars?

The second and 3rd gen Prius are, according to my mechanic actually good cars from a reliability standpoint.
