First COVID-19 related death in Mexico, positive cases increase

Mexico City, Mexico — The Secretary of Health has reported the first death of a person in Mexico with COVID-19. The agency said the 41-year-old victim had diabetes and showed symptoms of coronavirus since March 9.

Arturo Herrera, head of the agency explained the victim was a 41-year-old man who was infected with coronavirus at a concert he attended with his wife in Mexico City March 3 and that he he had no history of having traveled abroad. He died in a Mexico City hospital.

With confirmed cases of COVID-19 rising fast in Massachusetts, hospitals are bracing for an impact that could be overwhelming.

Dr. Peter Slavin, president of Massachusetts General Hospital, says five people are in intensive care currently because of COVID-19. He says more than 70 people in the hospital are suspected of having the disease.

Someone posted a pattern, a while back.

I think someone else said that felt was a good “filter” insert, in emergencies.

My husband volunteers giving financial counseling for people at his church. He doesn't give me specifics but he says you wouldn't believe it.

100k, 200k in credit card debt, less than 1k in savings, not abnormal.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Headquarters for Disease Control and Prevention (Director Eun-Kyung Jung) announced that as of March 19 at 00:00, the total cumulative number of confirmed patients was 8,565, of which 1,947 were quarantined. The number of new confirmed patients was 152, and the number of patients in quarantine decreased as the number of quarantine increased by 407.

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) Harbors Division is preparing to accept two cruise ship arrivals at Honolulu Harbor in order for the vessels to refuel and restock on food and supplies. However, passengers will not be allowed to leave the ship. All cruise ships are on a 30-day pause in operations that took effect March 14, 2020. At the time of the directive pausing operations, these two ships, the Maasdam operated by Holland American Line and the Norwegian Jewel operated by Norwegian Cruise Line, were already at sea.
