Time for a little macabre levity...
There’s Got To Be A Morning After
(This song is a little off-topic, but I've always loved this song: "Why Am I Treated So Bad" - The Staple Singers.)
Back on topic, how about this one? "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" - Etta James
The Clash
London Calling
The Doors - Roadhouse Blues
And I woke up, good mornin’, and I got myself a beer
Yeah, I woke up, good mornin’, and I got myself a beer
The future’s uncertain and the end is always near

What a depressing movie. I remember as a kid on long drives we would all sing Waltzing Matilda.
There was a song when I was a kid. I can’t remember who sang it or the title but the words were.. it’s the end of the world..it ended when you said you didn’t love me.
When the Man Comes Around. I like the rendition sung by Johnny Cash not long before he passed on.
This summer,
Milwaukee Calling
Milwaukee calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared and battle come down
Milwaukee calling to the underworld
Come out of the basements, you boys who are girls
Milwaukee calling, now don’t look to us
Phony Berniemania has bitten the dust
Milwaukee calling, see we ain’t got no swing
‘Cept for the sting of that vote riggin’ thing
The ice age ain’t coming, the heat’s growing hot
Meltdown is here, legalize pot
We’ll stop the engines, but I have no fear
‘Cause Milwaukee’s burning, and I, I live by the river
This summer,
Milwaukee Calling
Milwaukee calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared and battle come down
Milwaukee calling to the underworld
Come out of the basements, you boys who are girls
Milwaukee calling, now dont look to us
Phony Berniemania has bitten the dust
Milwaukee calling, see we aint got no swing
Cept for the sting of that vote riggin thing
The ice age aint coming, the heats growing hot
Meltdown is here, legalize pot
Well stop the engines, but I have no fear
Cause Milwaukees burning, and I, I live by the river
I liked it so much I sent it to myself. ;)
Nick Drake’s “From the Morning”

The line, “and now we rise and we are everywhere” was cut into his grave marker by request of his mother. So, sort of counts.
Dark Ages - Jethro Tull
Black Friday - Steely Dan
The Gates of Delirium - Yes
Second verse
Milwaukee calling to the LGBT town
Forget it Zother, you can go it alone
Milwaukee calling to the He Shes of death
Quit holding out and carve it all off
Milwaukee calling and I don’t want to shout
But if you’ll do that I’ll see myself out
Milwaukee calling, now you are all high
Except for that one, that Soros guy
Probably "The End of the World" by Skeeter Davis (1962)--see post #5.
Wow, the mash-up was great.
And it totally worked.
The Fire Song--The Carter Family (1930)
