This whole thing has taught me a valuable lesson for the future. Who knew that the most valuable commodity during the apocalypse would be ass wipe?
No meat or dairy. Can goods low at my Ralphs
Live Free or Die Hard...
That was me yesterday, in line at Ralph’s in Garden Grove before 8 AM.
Here in the western burbs of Minneapolistan....
I went to two Menards mostly for research purposes.
Many of the grocery shelves.....empty
The whole rack of nitrile gloves....empty
No paper products to be found.
All five gallon gas cans.....gone
The zombie apocalypse is in full swing here.
I give the panicky people about a week before they burn out their adrenals and things return to a more normal state.
I really hate 90% of people. They are dumb and/or evil. I hope Wuhan Virus takes most of them out. Used to be they would starve or get eaten by wild animals. Now they accumulate and make life hell. I miss nature.
I was in Costco a few days ago. They had employees guarding the water and paper goods. They were limiting all of it to one or two per customer.
That’s how to sanely handle it.
The good news is that there are not any actual product shortages and once the part of the population prone to panick has all they can stuff into their garage, normalcy will prevail again.
LOL! I’ve been avoiding grocery shopping the past few days.
Yesterday I went for a few things.
I did manage to buy the LAST bag of cat litter.
Cat litter. Who the hell stocks up on cat litter?
We live in a country of floods, hurricanes, tornados etc and you would think people would have toilet paper, water and a few canned goods on hand.
Worse comes to worst, just step in the shower, especially if you have a hose attachment for “undercarriage washes”. Maybe a little less convenient, but actually more sanitary.
Think if it this way. If your finger pokes through the TP when you wipe, do you just wipe it off, or do you wash your hands? There you go.
How about a rag and soap and water? TMI?
This one as well:
The plants are still producing.
The delivery trucks are still running.
Who makes this stuff. I want to buy their stock.
Let’s make lemonade!
Have gotten used to keeping a mega package of TP and paper towels on top of my stores rack. When I crack it open it's time to pick up a new one.
Open a bottle of bleach - pick up a new gallon, etc.
I figured most Freepers were on that page. Sad to see many are not.
That was about it. Smallish crowd, no mania. Everybody seemed to be having a pleasant day.
Imagine how many addicts get their incomes from restaurant, booze joint and entertainment businesses. There are also many others who didn’t save for a time like this. Notice that increasingly more people have been misbehaving on our highways over the past couple of decades. See Florida Man in every state. Maybe there will be some brawls in the stores in a few days, and maybe riots and looting soon after.
