Anyone here?

You’re right now sitting down with every other poster on this thread and have verified they’re not interested in thinking?

I received an email yesterday from my water district, informing us that the water supply is safe and there is no need to buy bottled water for drinking:
Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Your Drinking Water System

In light of concerns surrounding COVID-19 (the coronavirus), Padre Dam wants to reassure customers that this virus has no impact on the District's drinking water supply. Padre Dam is committed to providing its customers with safe and reliable water that is both available and plentiful.

Drinking Water Safety Padre Dam receives 100 percent of our drinking water supply from the San Diego County Water Authority water treatment plants. The final process of water treatment includes disinfection, which inactivates viruses, including the coronavirus. Water is tested throughout Padre Dam's system on a daily basis to ensure it maintains a consistent disinfectant residual level. (chlorine). Our water meets all stringent state and federal drinking water requirements.Click here to see Padre Dam's most recent Water Quality Report.

Do I Need to Buy Bottled Water? Padre Dam customers can continue to use and drink tap water as usual. Padre Dam will continue to provide its customers with safe and reliable drinking water.

With all the panic about buying bottled water, the water district apparently thought it was necessary to get this message out to its customers.

I just came from a national supermarket chain and the only things they were picked over on was:Everything else was in abundance. Seafood in particular and the good stuff was on sale. Plenty of produce of every kind (ok single garlic was gone so I just bought a full row of nice looking cloves). Sushi guy making sushi and selling it. Deli doing a booming business, people waiting for the 11am fried chicken drop and it was gone in 5 minutes.

Speaking of... the people were alternately chill, or angry (one woman rammed my wife's cart and my wife stuck the bird right in her face lol), or just mostly wary.

The Blue Buffalo sales rep approached us in the dog food aisle and said, "I have a $5 coupon for Blue Buffalo." and we said no thanks but thank you anyway we do Abound and explained why. She said, "Thank you anyway, you are the first people willing to talk kindly to me today."

And I had a nice convo with the freezer guy while my wife shopped beauty stuff - he said it was weird on Friday when people were fighting over bags of flour, but that it had become progressively more chill over the weekend.

I am growing weary of the namecalling (particularly “flubros”).

It is possible to believe the media and democrats are sensationalizing this crisis to damage Trump, while still taking the threat very seriously. That’s where I am.

"How hard would it be for Chinese bureaucrats to kill a segment of their population and call it coronavirus?"

OR shut down the Hong Kong protests and accidentally kill off beloved ancestors. But no worries, the Italians are sucking on those Chinese ventilators right now...

But Descartes’ cogito proposition does not conclude solipsism.

The difference is infinite.

I believe in careful thinking, yes just as Descartes demonstrated.

Not solipsism.

I am required to attend a meeting with 15 people on Tuesday morning.

One of the people attending that meeting just returned from a cruise in the Mediterranean.

I have discussed this with my sister, who works with an at-risk community. They were given a list of screening procedures last week that were written by an epidemiologist at a major nearby university.

Anyone who has been on a cruise in the last 14 days is not permitted on the grounds of where she works.

Needless to say, I am going to have a conversation about this first thing tomorrow morning. I can’t telecommute, but there is no reason why we can’t have meetings via The internet rather than all sitting in a crowded room.

In other words, you don’t speak for anyone but yourself.

I would guess lots of other posters, other than just me, also prefer to be independent thinkers rather than just follow the crowd.

“Just be happy that it has not infected 60+ mil as the flu does every year.”

And we need to keep it that way.
