I just came from a national supermarket chain and the only things they were picked over on was:

red meat (a scattering of chuck and 70/30 left for some reason), I picked up filet mignon and lamb instead
fresh chicken (but the chain's fairly good frozen bags of breasts and tenders and wings were only 1/2 picked over way down in the freezer section because the zombies don't know where to look)
TP (Gone. Forget it. One lonely 12-pack that no one would touch for some reason. It was poignant. And bizarre.)
And bottled water (no Deer Park but an acceptable substitute other than Aquafina which tastes worst than tap water and smells like fish feet)

Everything else was in abundance. Seafood in particular and the good stuff was on sale. Plenty of produce of every kind (ok single garlic was gone so I just bought a full row of nice looking cloves). Sushi guy making sushi and selling it. Deli doing a booming business, people waiting for the 11am fried chicken drop and it was gone in 5 minutes.

Speaking of... the people were alternately chill, or angry (one woman rammed my wife's cart and my wife stuck the bird right in her face lol), or just mostly wary.

The Blue Buffalo sales rep approached us in the dog food aisle and said, "I have a $5 coupon for Blue Buffalo." and we said no thanks but thank you anyway we do Abound and explained why. She said, "Thank you anyway, you are the first people willing to talk kindly to me today."

And I had a nice convo with the freezer guy while my wife shopped beauty stuff - he said it was weird on Friday when people were fighting over bags of flour, but that it had become progressively more chill over the weekend.

That is good news. What part of the country are you in?

I will sacrifice going to the deli at our Publix for awhile. Love their subs but I’ll pass! No sense in borrowing trouble.
