I have been warning about the economic impact of this for some time...and of course, people shouted at me here that I didn’t know what I was talking about

Instapundit has ceased the twice daily Coronavirus update:

I THINK I’M GOING TO DISCONTINUE THE “CORONAVIRUS UPDATE” FEATURE. I started it when I thought the story wasn’t getting enough attention, which clearly isn’t the case anymore. I’ll still blog stuff that looks important, but no more twice-daily roundups unless conditions warrant.

A selection of some of that other stuff:

And really important - Amsterdam's 'Red Light' district shuts, long lines for marijuana

People say some of the stupidest things here and actually believe it

One of the most ridiculous is the guy who said I was posting about Ryan Newman’s crash because I was trying to get the Vegas bookies to move the Nascar line to my advantage

The lake was empty yesterday except for two jet skiers and two boats. It should be so crowded you can jump from one boat to the next all day and half the night during Spring Break. I’ve lived here all my life and have never seen it like this. All that has been by today is a construction boat. Very freaky. I greatly appreciate the quiet but just too freaky.

She didn’t. The RICO system has, which is why there are not satellite health teams prepared for in-home examinations.

Empire State PMI -21.5

This would be the perfect time for him to go in to work on those pianos.

Be part of the solution, and not part of the problem. Consider it your patriotic duty, and if you want to protect your Mom, then you should be staying home.

The virus is not going away. Would be a good time to drop the carbs to ≤20 grams a day. Read the labels. Net carbs, not total carbs.

We've been keto for well over a year. It's NOT a difficult lifestyle, once you get started, and stick with it.

"I have been warning about the economic impact of this for some time...and of course, people shouted at me here that I didn’t know what I was talking about"

There is nothing that can be done about it at this time except to apply band aids.

Nothing is going to work until we know the extent of the damage of the virus, when we are on the down slope of the parabolic infection curve. You are probably looking at 4 to 8 weeks for that.

“This would be the perfect time for him to go in to work on those pianos.”

Yes ... logistically, but not financially. He has a family to feed and as a contractor, he wouldn’t get paid.

I think he’s restoring a couple now, so this will give him more time to concentrate on that. He just restored a Steinway for me — delivered two weeks ago — and it’s gorgeous. The Guild Steinway tech who tuned it at this end said it’s an “excellent job”.

Plus, he and his wife live with, and take care of, Mom, who’s 96. She and we will help out, too. I think he’ll do OK, but this has been a shock, and it’ll be rough for a while.

Saw off.

If you think any one person...especially someone on THIS forum ‘started this crap’, you have strange issues.

So, POTUS and the country have instituted these strong measures, over ‘crap’??

Take your nonsense to another thread.

I’m on year three of my “year of throwing stuff out”.

My magic word is “someday”. Everytime I look at something and say, “someday....” I realize it’s been decades of “someday” and decide it’s time to part with it.

I’ve been donating, upcycling, etc. Now I’m getting to the sellable stuff and looking at options.

Not anything else.

Yeah when I went to Menard’s yesterday the young guy at the checkout sneezed. He did it into his inner elbow which was good and then he grabbed the hand sanitizer and smeared it on his hands real quick, not even good coverage and went about his business like hand sanitizer was some magic thing.

I’ve had to get on my daughter about not using enough water when washing dishes or scrubbing and piling up in large batches to rinse as a second step. The whole point is that soap and enough water suspends the dirt/grease so that it will rinse off. Meanwhile the first dish she scrubs, party dries before she gets around to rinsing.

Tell me about it. I’ve gotten the impression that people look at sanitizer as they do recycling. They get that smug look on their face after ‘doing their part’...even if their plastic gets dumped in the Pacific on its way to China.

I’m a danger for calling you out?

Let’s see...now, you’ve claimed that ...

A specific FReeper is responsible for ‘starting this crap’, and, that those who call you out about your inane claim are a danger to this country.

You have your head in the sand, about CV, and THAT is the biggest danger.

POTUS and the entire world are placing extreme measures, to try to contain this, over a hoax??

You obviously disagree with the majority of great information, that is on this thread...since you think this horrid disease is all a bunch of ‘made up crap’, so go post on the FBD/it’s all a hoax threads.
