I hate to be the bearer of bad news but in an economic crash situation sole proprietors, small businessmen with a C or S Corp will have no luck getting unemployment benefits because they can’t prove they have no income, despite having paid into the system for over a decade. Lived that one in 08-09.
I don’t know that any of us have laughed about this.
Other than how it affects us personally that is.
Our neighbor next door is a barber. Wife works in a medical field. This is a horror show for them.

I think you’re right — but does this Wuhan situation fall under the technical “Unemployment” heading? Is it something special/different in light of the National Emergency?
OK. It was just a guess.
I had heard speculation about it.
I think what this has done is forced some people to confront their own mortality, and they are terrified of it.
I need to do stuff like that anyways.
We will be opening our cottage soon so I have a few boxes of stuff to take up there.
All the food is in 1/2 gallon canning jars.
Additionally, we are moving in the very near future and I am weeding out everything we don’t absolutely need and getting rid of it. It’s a matter of sorting through a whole household of stuff after living here for 16 years.

We try to support ACE, the only hardware store in town, but they have problems figuring out that ringing sound of their phone much less if they have x, y, z. Had to drive 4 towns over to Lowes to get those Command hangers a few days ago.

Mr. b just got in from the doctor’s. Said everyone’s temp is taken immediately and again in the office. When the doctor and the assistance came in the back door to start work, they had to have their temps taken. Hand sanitizer everywhere. Mr. b has to go back to town to get his meds and I’m putting my foot down on lock down.
