Yesterday's thread is here: http://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3823939/posts?page=1301
The only number that matters is how many need an ICU bed/ventilator and do we have enough for everyone who needs one at any given time.
Else it gets ugly, fast.
(don’t have a heart attack, stroke, accident, anaphylactic shock, etc).
haha - I knew there had to be a secret ingredient
You're wrong. That confirmed case to confirmed death rate.
Most cases of any flu GO UNREPORTED. So, the actual rate in SK is small fraction of that.
“Trump said Walmart, Target and CVS would be setting up testing tents”
I will be sure to wear my pajamas to Walmart
Yes, maybe the next birthday cake I owe.
Meanwhile, this is interesting: Kushner purportedly the real one leading the coronavirus response: https://nypost.com/2020/03/13/karlie-kloss-doctor-dad-used-facebook-to-get-coronavirus-advice-for-jared-kushner/
Lot of people were expecting the ILI numbers to show hidden covid cases this week.
But they didn’t.
After watching governors jump on the state of emergency train today, they have been briefed on something bad, bad, bad, super bad coming down the road.
I am not sure how to evaluate this.
As long as those folks go home, and practice social distancing, that might be okay.
Keep in mind that we have limited resources and that means not everyone can or should be tested.
I think that is what Gottlieb means when he says that, right now, mitigation is more important than containment.
At this late date, everyone stepping onto US soil should be placed into mandatory quarantine. None of this pinky swear stuff.
If they don’t jump on the train, they don’t get the federal dollars.
THAT’S “bad, bad, bad...”.
I am thinking Trump wanted to do it a certain way,..thus my thread about he said he wasnt letting those folks on a plane...
i think they were off the cuff remarks
but then a whole bunch of bureaucrats got involved..and civil libertarians, etc
and now he had to back off
well, that’s what a relative bragged. But what the hay - all hands on deck and bring on the info flow between doctors. Unlike China, we encourage our medical people to discuss their views.
I’ve seen some suggest making the kids lunches and dropping them off for the kids to eat.
Problem is, the deadbeat parents are going to take the kid’s lunches and eat them themselves, while the kids go hungry.
Seen that way to much in the Upstate NY welfare town we used to live in.
The kids never stood a chance.
“ not everyone can or should be tested”
Id like to see the “testing arguments” focus on who should be *required* to be tested.
