*** You can also start ginger if you want.
Lots of instructions online on how to do that.
It probably comes from china... ***
A lot of ginger is grown in Deep South Texas. I have grown ginger from store bought ginger that was from Edinburgh, TX.
The GA map screams quarantine needed around metro Atlanta.

Someone on twitter asked what the implications of this would be. I said “no elections, president Trump 4eva”. LOL
Hope I didn’t just start a leftist twitter meltdown
why is the news on updates so quiet today? It’s odd compared to other days.
Yesterday it seemed to be the sports world that was issuing delays and cancellations.
Today’s entertainment news seems to be about regular TV programming. Expect ‘new’ TV programming to be impacted and a lot of reruns in the near future. According to spoilertv.com, the list of shows delaying/halting production is growing:
Bull, Carnival Row, Chicago Wednesday, Dynasty, FBI, Grace and Frankie, Grey’s Anatomy, Law and Order: SVU, NCIS franchise, New Amsterdam, Riverdale, and others.

Perhaps the media is vetting a big story about Andrew Gillum? Snicker...
If anyone sees where the rural area of Austin case is from, please let me know. She was taken to a hospital in Bee Caves but would like to know where she is living. Knew it was inevitable but hitting too close to home.
UT Austin cancelled classes and closed today for students and staff. Extends SB an extra week.
Texas Southern University cancelled classes today.
Events at Frank Erwin Center, Bass Concert Hall postponed
I just had a scary thought. How is this going to affect the food supply is this goes on. Fields going unharvested, etc.
Nope.
SOME rice varieties (lowland) do better in a paddy system.
I grow mine on flat ground (no hills/furrows) using a technique called SRI.
I mulch extensively and use soaker hoses to keep it damp.
I also plant it in the boggiest part of my yard to help with that.
Look up rice hulling equipment.
One of the things we DID get, prepperwise, was a grain mill and rice huller. FRmail me for a link to that company. Not cheap but I did a test growout of rice and got nearly 75lbs of paddy (unhulled rice) from 300sqft. Fast enough that I could have planted something after (like string beans or really short season limas or sweet corn) and it would have time to make as well.
Yep, Tech and UNT did same yesterday.
My daughter is wondering whether to come home or stay there, because she doesn’t want to risk infecting our mother-in=law who lives with us. I really want her home, but I understand the concern.
Nero fiddled while Rome burned.
What were the Dems doing when the coronavirus was taking hold?
Thanks for that enlightening list.
The virus never sleeps. :-(
Why do you think I’ve been ordering seeds?
I’m ordering enough for us and neighbors. Especially stuff like sweet corn, blackeyed peas, limas, winter squash and the like.
IF you can get a sweet potato or two (fresh) and you live somewhere with a warm/hot summer you can start your own slips. 3 or 4 sweet potatoes would put off enough slips for you and neighbors. Instructions on the net for how to do this.
*** Mr. b has a doctors appoint Monday to get his meds and for real that the day the drawbridge is up for good. ***
I hope Mr B doesn’t have to wait around with a bunch of sick folks in the waiting room. I need to make one last run for liquid acetaminophen. My Mom has been getting a fever about 8pm the last 2 days. Weird, it is normal all day, then around 8pm...boing.
She has a concierge doc, but I really don’t want her to be around any doctor or lab for a blood draw right now.

Miami mayor who tested positive for coronavirus “was one of several politicians, including President Donald Trump, who interacted with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and his staff during a visit to South Florida last week.”
I think the virus was the DS plan all along.
Impeachment was its cover.
Miami mayor just tested positive.
Grains really do NOT like acid soil (or very alkaline soil). If you have acid soil (blueberries and azaleas are happy with no soil amendments) you need to spread lime. I didn’t ‘till it in’ but just sprinkled it on top of the ground before I mulched. Along with some 13/13/13. I also inoculated my seedlings with something called ‘great white’. you can still order that from amazon last I looked. Also other mycos would probably work as well.
