People are going to survive by being prepared and not coming in contact with the sick.

If it doubles from two days ago, then today’s confirmed cases would be 1404 at 2130 hrs Eastern time, when I gather them before bed.

I’ll post the chart then, but at this moment they are, sadly, at 1283 and tracking at the same rate =o/

GF and I are same...
Mild temp, chest congestion, bit of fatigue
Home
Teleworking
No results from the office case who is will in ICU. Prayers up for him.

Thank you to you and all very much for caring.
Not wanting to draw attention to self here =o/

The statewide death toll from the coronavirus climbed to 29 on Wednesday, after a Snohomish County man died and three others died in King County, health officials said.

The Snohomish County man, who is in his 80s, was one of three residents of the Josephine Caring Community in Stanwood who previously were confirmed to have the virus and were taken to a local hospital.

No further details were available about the three additional King County deaths.

So far, 26 people have died from COVID-19 in King County, two in Snohomish County and one in Grant County.

TX

Public health officials in Texas are investigating a case of COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus, in a Montgomery County resident with no out-of-state travel and no identified contact with another person with COVID-19. Montgomery County Public Health continues to work to determine whether there is a connection to another case or whether this is a case of community spread.

On the contrary, Western culture has a great tradition of sacrifice. Christianity, and Catholicism in particular, is inextricably linked to the concept.
The hyper individualism that is so prevalant today is quite a modern turn of events, and one that runs directly contrary to Western culture as it was understood for almost 2,000 years.

Aww come on man, it is for a good cause, $50 to Free Republic, and you are so certain to win the bet based on your posts. It is win-win for you! All we need to do is let Jim Robinson know he has $50 coming no matter who loses the bet.

MA web site still not reporting the number tested.

They asked for comments, so I told them I would like to see the total number of individuals tested.

I asked nicely. :-)

I agree. Never good when a President addresses the country from the Oval Office.

To stop COVID-19, Washington implements measures not seen since Spanish flu
Today, 06:01 PM

Gov. Jay Inslee banned gatherings of over 250 people in the state’s three most populous counties.
by David Kroman & Lilly Fowler
March 11, 2020

To contain the spread of COVID-19, Washington state is turning to a technique rarely used in the century since the Spanish flu killed nearly 700,000 Americans — mandatory social distancing.

“These are tools from the past that still work,” said Julie Fischer, a professor at Georgetown University’s Department of Microbiology and Immunology. “We just haven’t had to use them in a long time.”

Gov. Jay Inslee announced Wednesday he is prohibiting gatherings of over 250 people in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, a nearly unprecedented move in peacetime liberal democracies and one that represents a significant escalation in the effort to contain the new coronavirus. The policy is set to last until the end of the month, but will likely be extended, he said.

The steps are necessary to control the COVID-19 outbreak, said Dr. Jeff Duchin, health officer with Public Health — Seattle & King County. He called it the “infectious disease equivalent of a major earthquake that will shake us for weeks and weeks.”

Mandating social distancing, while uncomfortable, can slow the disease’s spread and ease the impact on hospitals and the vulnerable public, Duchin said.
