“Italian Prime Minister Conte tightens coronavirus lockdown, orders the closure of all non-essential businesses”
the entire Italian economy, crushed.

44 new cases and 4 new deaths in King County, Washington, including 3 deaths at LifeCare nursing home and 1 death at a different care & rehab center
Noted & thanks!
Also - how are you feeling?
They didnt believe us when we pointed to China tanking their economy and quarantining more than the US population over a mild illness. What will be the excuse for Italy? That they were just a bunch of old people?
When will people get that it is not about who gets sick, it is about how many get sick and how many the healthcare system can handle.
Yes but by individual responsibility I mean the following:
Avoid all unnecessary trips especially if there are old folks living with you.
Wash hand as soon as possible after touching anything in public areas where others may have touched. The skin on palm of hands is tough for the virus to penetrate, but if you touch wet parts of body (nose, eyes, mouth) it gives easy access to the virus. Yesterday I was in a grocery store and there were no anti-bacterial wipes. As soon as I got home I washed hands with soap and water.
If you get any symptoms (dry cough, difficulty breathing, fever etc) before being tested, immediately isolate yourself.
If all people practiced these simple procedures, spread of infections will be much smaller. If someone in a public place sneezes or coughs near you, not much you can do except assume the worst and run to the nearest bathroom and wash all exposed skin.
Willie performed already in Houston. His shindig at the ranch is still on
Rodeo Austin is still on for Sat.
Gov. Jay Inslee ordered a halt Wednesday to all gatherings of more than 250 people in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, and ordered schools across the state to immediately begin contingency planning for potential closures in the next several days.
The moves mark the strongest action the state has taken to date to try to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus in the Puget Sound region, which has become the epicenter of a burgeoning national crisis.
Shortly after Inslees announcement, Seattle Public Schools, the states largest school district, announced that schools would close for a minimum of two weeks.
During a March 11 press conference, Gov. Jay Inslee ordered a halt to all gatherings of more than 250 people in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties.
Flanked by the leaders of Seattle, Tacoma and Everett, and of King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, Inslee said he was ordering the cancellation of large church services, sporting events, concerts, festivals and conventions.
Today I am ordering, pursuant to my emergency powers, that certain events in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties with more than 250 people are prohibited by order of the governor, Inslee said, at a King County government building in downtown Seattle. The three counties are experiencing significant community transmission, significant outbreaks and they are large population centers.
I have a picture in my head of relatives sitting outside the window of the assisted living or nursing home, talking via cellphone to their loved ones.
RE: Has anyone asked the taskforce when the US will have enough N95 masks for not only professional healthcare workers, but people like me with high risk family members?
.
I’m a caregiver for a 95 yo mom(with high BP) so i’m irritated that theres no recent info on the N95 production. I suspect that our gov is hording them all to build up a strategic reserve. HHS said they need 300 mil but 3M capability is 25-35 mil/month. Honeywell may also be manufacturer but i haven’t seen info of their capacity. Here’s what I’ve seen but its back around Mar 1 ...

haven’t heard anything about Defense Production Act being invoked but not sure thats required?

Yep, I figured out from the first they’d yank my respirator and wheel me out to the hall.
Thats interesting. Notice that the lull when the US cases were at 15, a lot of other EU countries had a lull too. Did they have the same problem with CDC tests? Was this a worldwide problem?
“...containing the influx of infected people coming from other countries and containing local outbreaks within the U.S....”
Sounds like he’s telegraphy upcoming plans.
They’ve already told the elderly to get some groceries and stay home for a while.
Sounds to me like they’re continually softening us for their future intentions for us all.
The wise are quietly picking up their signals and this is allowing the preparations to happen without panic.
This weekend MANY will wake up.
Saturday grocery store shopping will probably be quite the show
