The question about whether POTUS has been tested is nothing more than a red herring trap by the media. The current guideline for COVID-19 testing is: Ordered by a physician when the physician deems the patient may have been infected by the coronavirus.

If POTUS gets the COVID-19 test, he is either suspected of having the virus (demanding isolation) or he is wasting a limited resource. Do you see the no-win trap set up by the media?

Yeah, I know what you're saying, and I thought of that, but I think it's a trap that's easily avoided, especially given that it's public knowledge that he's been around those who have been exposed, including his own chief of staff. I understand that others have a different opinion, but that's mine.

if you watched the tape, the president was already off the podium and was at the door with guys behind him when the reporter yelled the question. Pence said that he hadn’t been tested and he would find out if the president had.

The reason the CDC advises against cruise ship travel, besides the chance of infection, is, the State Dept has warned cruisers that they cannot automatically depend on the US to airlift them if they get stranded in a foreign country. Ships are being denied portage, and will continue to be denied until Wuhan Flu is no longer a threat to the public. Since younger people may be less succeptible to the disease, Fauci can say what he wants to do the cruise industry a favor, but it goes back to, you’re not getting rescued.

I see some comments that the masks can actually make you less safe if used improperly.

I saw it live. I’m not bashing Trump. I’m just saying he should have been tested, especially since he’s publicly known to have been in the company of his own chief of staff who is known to have been exposed, and that it would give the public some reassurance to know he’s been tested and found negative. Transparency and clarity here can only be good, if it’s handled properly.

And regarding the advice about cruises... Whichever their recommendation, and whatever the recommendation is, they need to be giving a consistent message.

8 states have declared a state of emergency, so it’s not the big deal in terms of “loss of liberty” that some are claiming it is in NY. It is for emergencies, after all!

Yep- Italy is suffering terribly. I pray we’re learning from them. Have you read the letters several of the docs there have written? Overwhelmed.

One thing I’d like to see emphasized in public announcements is asking people not to go to ER if they think they have it. CALL FIRST. Get instructions. If an infected person walks into ER we have 30 plus staff out for 2 weeks.

How do you know that a mutation occurred in Italy?

I understand a clear message about embarking on a cruise ship today. There is a rather high risk of infection for any number of contagious illnesses during a cruise with thousands of other passengers. You are free to make the choice to board your cruise ship. Ports of call are free to deny cruise ships entry, resulting in a cruise to nowhere. The U.S. is free to discontinue the extraordinary expense of rescuing people who choose to ignore the warnings about cruise ship health risks. Your choice is whether to assume the risk. Your responsibility. Your decision.

The news out of Italy is heartbreaking.

There is a definite need to emphasize calling ahead. Signs should be posted at entrances to health care facilities, from clinics, to hospitals. With our temperate climate, it is reasonable for hospitals to set up a triage tent outside the hospital facility.

Meadows was invited to be chief of staff on Friday. He didn’t know until the weekend that there was an issue re: CPAC, which was 13 days ago now. Meadows took a test and he is negative. With the average time from exposure to symptoms calculated at 5 days, and Meadows clear by day 11-12, he’s probably virus free. Don’t fall for the wishful thinking drama of the MSM.

Are there any studies that measure the loss of mask performance over time while is storage?

Well this morning I am feeling quite doomed by the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.

Look for community spread by these fools and idiots of the day! Your public school and public health system at the finest in a democrat stronghold...Cuyahoga County

Two Solon High School students in ‘self-quarantine’ after exposure to person with coronavirus

At least the Jewish Education Center where there is one of the other positive cases is closing down for several weeks.

And even Ohio State University with no confirmed cases is stopping all classes and moving to online until the end of the month.

But...no...Solon High School is running amok with starting an outbreak in the whole of the community. Yes, I am beyond angry! I cannot believe they are being so, so foolish. The kids under quarantine are likely the kids of the one infected...like...hmmm...highly contagious...idiots!

The incidence and mortality in Italy (9172 cases and 463 deaths at this writing) is second only to China. Roughly 88% of coronavirus deaths in Europe have occurred in Italy.

My son, in Seattle, just scored some rubbing alcohol and disinfectent wipes at a gas station mini-mart! I offered him some of the masks that I had. I was so proud. “Nah - I’ve got a box of ten that I bought when you told me too.”

We’re east of Seattle. My wife just found out she has been visiting a place that had two CV patients. It’s getting real. Might have to amend my tagline.

Oh - the bigbox hardware store in town had TP and paper towels. Although I read on some blog that an employee there has “flu-like” symptoms, but the flu test came back negative.

But he wasn’t so sick as to require the CV test!?

I understand that. I am not sure that is definitive evidence that the virus has mutated.

The statistics on deaths by age group are really stunning. This may have more to do with the specifics of who was infected, and how, rather than a mutation.
