I got 3 month refills out of pocket at Walmart. I needed a verbal, over the phone confirmation for Amitriptyline. Prevastatin and Lisinopril were effectively immediately available. Pharmacist asked if I was going to wait for those to be filled right then.

Incidentally, Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor. I was thinking of stopping it since I’ve been getting a lot more exercise and my blood pressure is fine with just a baby 5mg dose. but given the nature of this thing I think I’ll just stay the course.

Clinical course and risk factors for mortality of adult inpatients with COVID-19 in Wuhan, China: a retrospective cohort study

https://www.thelancet.com/pb-assets/Lancet/pdfs/S014067362305663.pdf

Findings 191 patients (135 from Jinyintan Hospital and 56 from Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital) were included in this study, of whom 137 were discharged and 54 died in hospital.

91 (48%) patients had a comorbidity, with hypertension being the most common (58 [30%] patients), followed by diabetes (36 [19%] patients) and coronary heart disease (15 [8%] patients).

Multivariable regression showed increasing odds of in-hospital death associated with older age (odds ratio 1·10, 95% CI 1·03–1·17, per year increase; p=0·0043), higher Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score (5·65, 2·61–12·23; p<0·0001), and d-dimer greater than 1 µg/L (18·42, 2·64–128·55; p=0·0033) on admission.

Median duration of viral shedding was 20·0 days (IQR 17·0–24·0) in survivors, but SARS-CoV-2 was detectable until death in non-survivors. The longest observed duration of viral shedding in survivors was 37 days.

Today was the biggest daily stock market drop since 12/1/2008 where S&P dropped 8.9% during 2008 great recession. What happened next 1 day later S&P popped 4% and 1 week later S&P was up a whopping 11.5% and that was in a lot worse economy than today.
A big pop could be coming

I have. Denver International airport, outbound and inbound. Within the US, though.

All the rest was noise—again imho.

Phew, thank goodness! I think Pence is doing an outstanding job

Agree. POTUS left early to work on economic issues; probably didn't want take questions about this to avoid saying something that could be misconstrued.

Lookner very upset about number tested not available. Difficult to know right now with all the different tests going into use by a multitude of different entities. I got the opinion that they are trying to consolidate all this information, which will not be easy IMO.

Just to be clear:

No discussion of quarantines.

No discussion of preparing the health care system.

These will be dealt with—either in planning mode or in crisis mode—their call.

Lockner is confused why the CDC and Dr. F contradicting each other. CDC says - ALL passengers, ALL US citizens don’t go on cruise. State Dept. says the same. Dr. F says if you’re young and healthy then go party. There was a woman who stepped up and cautioned about not cruising on floating petri dishes not to go. Ok, she didn’t say petri dishes.

9,000 cases of coronavirus in the US could stem from Wuhan alone

Travel before the city’s lockdown could have led to thousands of U.S. infections.

The study, which is not yet peer reviewed, was posted on Sunday (March 8) on the preprint database MedRxiv. It should not be taken as a final word on how many coronavirus cases actually exist in the United States, because it focuses only on travel from Wuhan and does not include potential transmission from Italy, Iran, South Korea or other places where the new virus SARS-CoV-2 is widespread.

This article is a preprint and has not been peer-reviewed [what does this mean?]. It reports new medical research that has yet to be evaluated and so should not be used to guide clinical practice.

Found interesting document concerning corticosteroids, ascorbic acid, and thiamine cooperation to counter viral related toxic chemicals shutting down cellular mitochondria. The most important action may relate to ascorbic acids (vitamin c) antioxidant action to regenerate vital chemical processes for energy production within the body’s cells.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WSAZ) — Two more cases of novel coronavirus have been reported in Kentucky, Gov. Andy Beshear reported Monday evening.

The governor said the newest cases are in Fayette and Harrison counties, and those patients are in isolation.

“Folks, we’re going to have more,” Beshear said, repeating a message from last week — continue to practice proper handwashing and don’t panic.

This brings the total number of cases in Kentucky to six.
