Buster—Great post about the “narrative”.
It is really a form of denial.
When we see it on the left we call it virtue signaling.
I am special and cool and the other guy is a Neanderthal and evil.
It has been very disappointing and irritating to see it here.
But—I think it is curable.
We have to gently but firmly point out facts that contradict the narrative—over and over and over again.
(Thinking about the posters here that refused to the believe the quarantines in Italy were real. They thought they were just an invention of the Trump hating mass media—like wtf?)
We are all human. We all have flaws. So does everybody else.
This is a great teaching moment—for everybody. (Some learn more quickly than others. ;-) )
LeBron—lol.
There is always one employee like that!
60 new cases in Belgium [source] bringing the total to 169 “Most of the positive patients have recently traveled, but we are seeing more and more local infections,”
53 new cases in Spain [source]
Holy crap. Was outside working yesterday and didn’t get on the puter last night. Look at john Hopkin’s coronavirus site this morning and it’s jumped from less then 200 up to 339 for the US.
Testing has begun. NY, WA and Cali are the three hotspots of course. Hot spots for leftists and coronavirus.
20-20 last night said 12,000 people in New York state are in voluntary quarantine waiting for testing.
Just New York state!
That gives you an idea what the next week is going to be like....
thanks!
I bought a new dust mask at the welding supply place because I do paint & body work. They had three boxes of N95 type masks. Joked with the counter guy saying I could make a killing on them selling on ebay. I was surprised they had any. MO Science & Tech university is right up the road and has lots of Oriental students.
I like the Winix as it generates hydroxyl radicals (OH-) which helps chew up contaminants.
Just got back from a minor re-supply run here in Texas. Here’s my notes:
1) I didn’t realize that Walmart ran Black Saturday sales, but it sure looked that way (didn’t go in).
2) Home Depot was well-stocked with bleach, and very fresh (important because it gets weak in several months). The bottle that I got (for water purification) was bottled less than a week ago.
3) Home Depot did have toilet paper, but only for the 1%.
4) Sams Club and Charmin Toilet Paper impressed me. I had bought toilet paper at Sams last weekend and they still had it today. But what was impressive was that price didn’t go up, although the size of the packages went down (oh well, can’t win them all!).
5) Also at Sams, their non-perishable foods were almost wiped out. Usually they’re to the ceiling, now only intermittently spaced on the first level - quite a sight.
6) Sams still had a bit of pain relievers left too.
Anyway, I agree with others, things will start getting very interesting this week, as we see the downside of our lovefest with Globalism.
63 new cases and 2 new deaths in France
That’s no fun- hoping you have the best outcome. I expect it’s in more places than we know.
Woo, lucky you.
I’m going to call our local co-op this morning to see if they have what I need for last minute garden prep. If not, I’ll order it.
Planning a HUGE garden this summer, we anticipate supply chain issues here too off and on. And it’s fresh food w/o leaving the premises.
