I’m an engineer. This is what my mind does all day: I run back-of-the-envelope calculations to try to estimate order-of-magnitude impacts. I’ve been on high alarm about this disease since ~Jan 19 after reading clinical indicators in the first papers emerging from Wuhan.

Funny. Almost in a soul mate kind of way. My wife and I became concerned in the beginning of January. The pandemic flu board raised the first alerts of something different at the end of December.

We "gamed" it and have predicted the black swan nature to economics, shortages and government. We didn't anticipated however the bizarre disease of Flu Broism.

I believe now "Flu Broism" is going to cause unnecessary death, destruction and panic.

Great time for spring allergies to kick in.

No fever and my %spO2 is 98, so I guess I am good.

Think I will tap into my everclear to smooth the throat out.

I wonder how people will confuse the allergy symptoms with Cornavirus this spring.

I am experiencing spring allergies in the South now, the pollen is already out in the South.

IF Mass Gen is affiliated with Harvard, they believe they are so intelligent that they can repel the virus merely by raising their eyebrows.

I think the saying is something like this: You can always tell when someone is from Harvard, you just can't tell them anything.

Here’s what we know about #COVID19 in #SWFL: a woman in her 70s died at Gulf Coast Medical Center in #LeeCounty of the #coronavirus and had recently traveled internationally. (We don’t know WHERE she traveled, however.) She arrived at the hospital with severe respiratory issues.

Interesting, as actually a LOT of (new) stuff gets sold, or at least listed, on eBay at retail or close.

Ok, those are sometimes Wally World type retail prices, not “suggested list price” (usually a meaningless number),but, still...

That said, even a few weeks ago I saw some pretty insane prices on eBay for N95 masks. One listing was literally 10x the pricing at Lowes, in one case, for boxes of 10.

It is Lent and Catholics during Lent don’t eat meat on Fridays that is probably why they were out of Tuna!!!

-Canned sardines

I’m going to try largemouth bass (out of good water) and rainbow trout in Tuna Helper. Bluegill if big enough should work too.

(Chicken will also work in every version of Tuna Helper I’ve tried it in. Although it’s not quite as lean, I prefer boneless thighs for such mixes, instead of breast meat.)
